we just never expected the Phantom Pain to be for us. Everything leading up to the game's release looked phenomenal, even Ground Zeroes was 10/10.
We had absolutely no idea it would end up that way
80 million is nothing for a game like MGSV should have been.
80 million for 5 years of dev along with a new engine made from scratch for an open world AAA game is nothing.
Konami were ultimate jews. Ground Zeroes made $36 million alone (which they had forced to be released separately, it was meant to be the prologue)
The game then made back a shit ton of money in the first week, and that doesn't count the money it made afterwards and all the money they pulled from the DLC and microtransactions they cut out of the game so they could sell.
