Nice pick
Age Of Empires 2 is great
>American """RPG""" soundtracks
Jeremy Soule is a talentless hack who can't write anything that isn't copied and pasted from his previous game music.
Let's discuss pic related, which is actually good.
Just in case you were too much of a pleb to own an N64 back in the golden age of console gaming, here's a taste of what quality game music sounds like.
Idk, don't get me wrong oblivion had a good soundtrack, but it was way more gentrified then the Morrowind soundtrack and didn't have the character of the Skyrim soundtrack with all the chanting. Still, maybe I'm just projecting because it's the worst game of the three.
Show me Jeremy Soule tracks that are copy/pasted. You can't do it.
Morrowind's soundtrack didn't work as a soundtrack. It stands up outside of the game but its way too active for an open world soundtrack. You'd get a rhythmic anthem when you're walking on a road.
Oblivion's was top notch composition that fit stylistically and with the gameplay.
Thps2
here, you dropped your hat
Soundtrack wise? As in musical score for a film, I don't know
But the Persona series is pretty fucking on point
youtube.com
I mean, these are proper songs you could listen everyday
And TW3
Objective best
Undertale, easely. Also AOE 2 and Pilotwings64 are two classics that I can't forget
Lol my nigga...you aren't wrong
>same melodies remixed 883847 times

Search your heart, you know it to be true.
Silent Hill 2. Also, anyone who plays video games after the age of 20 should be purged from the society.

This what faggot?
Terraria soundtrack is the best ever
Yamaoka is a god
I hate Jeremy Soule's music lol I cringe so much when I see oblivion shit posted everytime there's a thread like this.
Like... Wow lmao. It's fucking boring and every bit of music has ZERO context, it's just 'there'.
There are no emotional connections or associations to be made.

Based Trent saving vidya and films since the 90s.

The Warcraft soundtrack is unironically great. WoW is good, too.
Mother 3 has an outstanding soundtrack.
youtube.com
Earthbound too, of course.

Best expansion, best track
Arcanum. Elder Scrolls series is overrated.
Ratchet and Clank 1 has the best soundtrack out of the series
youtube.com
Ni No Kuni has objectively the best soundtrack. It's kinda unfair because Joe Hisaishi from Studio Ghibli composed and conducted it but still.
Rayman in general, necropolis, dark souls 3, doom and hl 1 and 2 are great
These games generally use the spundtrack to tell the story, that makes it even more beautiful
Stand aside, plebs
Objectively best soundtracks
>To the Moon
>NieR:Automata
>Minecraft
>Katamari Fortissimo Damacy
>Red Dead Redemption
>The Elder Scrolls series (specifically Skyrim)
>Silent Hill series
>Dark Souls series
>Bioshock series
>Fallout series
Was gonna get pretty pissed if I didn't see this posted. Vid relevant.

Aoe 2 original soundtrack and the HD steam version's soundtrack are both incredible
HE HAS NO STYLE
>Hotline miami?
boy was the "music" in this game disappointing most of the time, BUT this theme right here blew my fucking mind
HE HAS NO GRACE
nah that game had great music
haven't heard
ok you're right, Korok Forest, Rito Village etc was neat but I disliked the horse riding music, Guardian encounters, enemy fighting music in general (except the boss and mini boss fights) and the fact that it was so quiet most of the time
I wont accept any other answer ever than this track
Civilization V has some really good picks of classical stuff, often gets overlooked.
Souls games kind of get a little repetitive but there are a few highlights where the music is softer for the context (Sif, Vendrick, Gwyn)
Grim Fandango deserves an obvious shout for music that perfectly matches the style and tone and is for the most part quite memorable (notably during the Rubacava quarter)
Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 (particularly 2) had great sneaking music as well as great pop songs (SNAKE EAAAAAATEEEER and Star Sailor).
Fans of early-IDM should rush to Bomberman World OST, some good hidden gem tracks.
youtube.com
horse riding music was great! only problem is that it was too easy to stop the momentum of it, enemy music was also great i think. the quiet nature of it is all in service of the sound design which is quite good, I think that game handles music better than just about any open world game really, also yeah hyrule castle is amazing
goddamn i need to play this game again
the music in botw is based
the combat theme is the best i've ever heard
youtube.com
my nigga
mother 3 is the best
Bioshock had music..?
The only music I can think of from the game was when that cokehead was playing the piano.
Quake OST
Bomberman Hero and World were already posted, so I'll contribute with Saturn Bomberman.

This still brings tears to my eyes...
Sent this to my ex that I still love on Valentines day last year. Still think of her when I hear it.
Apart from personal reasons, its an excellent song and fits the part of the game it is in. Wondering around the world in Earthbound after Gigas has being defeated while this plays is great.
Demon's Souls by far.
>Saturn Bomberman
My nigga
>oblivion is the worst of the three
>being this wrong
>there are only 3 elder scrolls games
Hotline Miami
>doesn't post any songs from the soundtack
Best I've ever heard, never seen it mentioned
agreed. Skyrim and Oblivion soundtracks are so great
also

runescape my niggers

>Having a GF ever
>Having a GF who likes earthbound
Holy fucking shit. My life will never be this good. Just another reason to end it.
this
This wins bar none.

Oblivion's is great, but Skyrim's is even better. I like Morrowind's too but it's a bit short and gets repetitive very fast.
Why hello, Satan!

Bastion's OST was amazing.

Also, Hotline Miami 1 and 2, JSR, JSRF, and the Katamari games are all amazing.
Also amazing.
Oh shit, I forgot about HM's soundtrack.
>How could this happen?
Heroes of might and magic III has an incredible soundtrack
The music that start when you're about to go on a mission is so gorgeous. X-Com 2 was so disappointing in that sense.
first for rampart being best town
youtube.com
Neotokyo, game "canceled" so we'll never have this masterpiece in a game unfortunatly
>rampart best town
>when stronghold exists
user stop making a fool out of yourself.
Eh, at least you didn't say Dungeon or Fortress
Oblivion as an RPG is much better than Skyrim. Skyrim is a great game but it was so dumbed down and really wasn't very big at all.
Not only that but Oblivion's soundtrack is also better than Skyrim's. Skyrim's has absolutely nothing memorable for me other than the main theme. Tracks like Harvest Dawn and Dusk at the Market take me back to so many different moments in the game whereas I don't get that from any of the Skyrim tracks despite having played Skyrim for longer than Oblivion overall.
It aged terribly but overall Oblivion is just a way better game
it's a shame oblivion has terrible character progression. i'd love to play more of it but i just couldn't anymore after 20 hours becuase i never got what i needed after lvl up or something like that
Had a GF who liked the exact same music as me and would always dig rec's i gave her which is literally the dream for me
she was a cunt and i'd never go back, girls are still girls no matter what they're into and they will eat your soul
