Aye, lines up with my experience too. They have to make villains approachable too since lately villains need to have a drive, a raison d'etre to be evil, while good guys just need to be good.
So they are usually much more fleshed out than the good guys.
Leads have a fleshed out story too, but it's more of a motivation as to why they want to be good.
