I'm about to graduate from school as a game programmer. I've been studying Japanese for the last 2 1/2 years somewhat lazily. I'm no where near fluent by any means. But I've never really had free time to learn, and I've only self learned.

How viable would it be to go to Japan for work. i think my language skills would have to be good enough to work as a programmer. Ya. I teach English to Japanese natives on my spare time and have about 100+ LINE friends who I'm language partners with. But living there is a whole different experience. Soaking in the language through living there would be a lot more beneficial than self learning.

Eikaiwa starts at about $2500 a month right. I currently make $4500 as a manager/BDO at one. I also have private lessons that supp my income about $2000 more a month. I'm 32 right now, but when I was 25-30 I also worked weekends as a fake marriage pastor. That job made absolute bank, but consumes your weekend.

Japanese tail is 100% easy as to come by if youre mildly attractive in your 20s. If I wasn't tied down things like tinder would make this twice as easy. Contrary to what you might hear, the better your Japanese the more likely you'll pick up girls.
