College right now. Video Game Design, it's pretty fun. Got no qualifications and a part time shopping assistant. Gettin £7.20 an hour and workin 11 and a half hours a week

If I was you I'd be sensible and don't piss it all away... keep it safe gathering interest in an account.
Everything's getting more expensive, it'd be good to have some money to fall back on if shit goes tits up.

I'd put it into a high interest ISA or similar. You've currently got the funds for a decent deposit for a house there. Putting it into an ISA will improve your credit rating giving you a good chance of getting a mortgage at around 20. Sorry to hear about your mum. But good luck in the future.

Put most of it away, but keep a grand or two to help you out if you need it, help pay the bills now, or buy that new toaster you need.

Like what every user said op, save it. You might think you're mature and shit but I'd say 18 is still young. Buy moderate car, invest in something or just throw it in savings until shit hits the fan. Shit always hit the fan eventually

Honestly the best thing to do is take about 1/3 and save it for emergencies or future purchases like a vehicle etc. Take 2/3 and put it into a low - med risk retirement account. Whenever you get a better job with benefits and they offer a retirement package then roll over that 2/3 into the new retirement plan.

OP i'm a model and i earned something like 20k between 18-21, i'm 21 now and i blew a lot of the money on stupid shit. Weed mostly, dominos pizzas, treating my gf, friends, shit like that. Thought i could live the high life and would still have some left over for serious shit


seriously just save it, i know you'll wanna spend bits of it here and there, but really try not to, it'll go fast, having £22k when you're 30 is infinitely better than having £22k when you're 18.

my advice is put it somewhere you don't have access to it, and forget about it. maybe take 2k and use it to treat yourself or get yourself through college, uni, etc. I blew my money on the stupidest shit like £1k for a month in paris, i don't regret my decisions, but hell i wish i kept most of my money
