Road Warrior vs Fury Road

>RLM cucks now believe Fury Road was the superior film

Mad Max 2 is a much deeper and more thought out movie.

They're both awesome, whats the big deal?

RLM can go eat a bag of dicks, fucking hack frauds. The Road Warrior is GOAT.

What happened to the fat guy that did the Plinkett videos?

Im with a shitty internet for now doo the video dont load but they explain why in the fuck Homungus die in such stupid way?

They say that. I love Road Warrior but Fury Road was a better movie.

>They're both awesome, whats the big deal?

Fury Road was just ok. About on par with the 3rd one, but better visually.

>RLM Tier
Terminator 2
Aliens
Fury Road

>Patrician Tier
Terminator
Alien
The Road Warrior

the original mad max is superior to both desu

I was pretty disappointed to see this as well, but I would expect as much from them. They have very Reddit-tier tastes when it comes to movies they like. I tend to agree with them on their reviews of movies they dislike though.

They also loved Jurassic World, Deadpool, and the new Star Wars movie. They have exactly the same taste in movies as my 13 year old cousin.

Will Mel Gibson get a role in the new movie now that he's back in action with Hacksaw Ridge

If I'm not mistaken he's just directing Hacksaw Ridge

this

Well yes, but his name will be out there again.

I just really missed based Mel in Fury Road and seeing him with Miller again would bring joy to my heart.

beaten to death by feminists for insulting Ghostbusters

I could have forgiven them for replacing him if they had given him an unaccredited cameo as a mysterious drifter as IMDB was reporting. One little scene of the real Mad Max looking grey and grizzled sitting beside the rusted out ruins of the real Interceptor, eating a can of cat food and looking up to see the chase fly past him. A two second clip that ties him into the new story in an abstract way would have been awesome. Fuck George Miller.

>"real" Mad Max
>"real" Interceptor
lmao stay mad delusional nostalgiafag

there is no continuity in the Mad Max series, Miller has said it himself

Road Warrior isn't even the second best Mad Max movie, pleb.

>there is no continuity in the Mad Max series

Thanks for agreeing with me. Which is exactly why it is not an issue to have Mel as an old Max on screen for two seconds watching the chase.

Aw fuck ye, Rob Ager. He had a great video on The Warriors before he took it down to throw on his paid website.

sure, it would be "nice", but from a formal and critical standpoint it would be nothing but pointless fanwank, the lack of which is why Fury Road works so well as a reboot in comparison to something like The Force Awakens. TFA is built entirely on that feeling of "hey, remember this? wasn't this cool 30 years ago?" whereas Fury Road takes the aesthetics and concept of something old and builds on it without leaning at all on nostalgia.

tl;dr you're acting like a faggot and you should probably stop

Only Mike liked Jurassic World. Jay recognized how shitty it was.

I thought Deadpool was ok but I really liked TFA.

RLM is right. Fury Road is leagues better than Road Warrior.

Give some actual arguments and explain yourselves, jesus fucking christ. Noone cares about your useless opinions if you dont justify them.

>RLM goes against the "partisan" grain declaring Fury Road the superior movie
Hurr, Road Warrior will always be best!

>Pleb partisans declare Road Warrior best on Sup Forums
Durr, the original is best!

>Hipster contrarians declare the original best
Derp, what about Beyond Thunderdome!

nobody thinks Beyond Thunderdome is the best, but you're basically right in concept

I get it now, you only like young actors in everything. Anyone over 40 is "old and gross". Enjoy your teens while they last.

It goes without saying.

George Miller's Magnum opus
>Fury road

Great flick
>Road Warrior

Hot garbage
>Thunderdome

The first Mad Max is open to interpretation though, just seems like Miller's first gritty action film.

>nobody thinks Beyond Thunderdome is the best

If the "original is best" thing catches on, contrarianism dictates Beyond Thunderdome will try and replace it because we can't allow different opinions here, only arguments and contrarianism.
Hell, when Trump gets elected, I "look forward" to watching everyone here declare themselves a liberal atheist, when SJW goes out of fashion, I'll "dread" the social outrages and tumblrisms that will infest this shithole.

are you literally retarded? how could you possibly extrapolate that from what i said?

this is accurate

>RLM Tier
>Terminator 2
>Aliens
Rich says he much prefers the first Terminator and Jay is famous for absolutely loving Alien and even putting Alien 3 above Aliens.

The first mad max has always been the patrician choice

Listen to the reasons Jay and Rich give for why Fury Road is better. It's faster, more action, more explosions, more reliance on flashy visuals. These are exactly the same reasons I dislike Fury Road, it's just a big action scene. I like slower pacing, add more contrast and intensity to the action scenes, and gives you more opportunity to grow an attachment with the protagonist.

>are you literally retarded? how could you possibly extrapolate that from what i said?

I was going to ask you the same thing, but then I realized I don't care what you think

No, but it's a decent no budget debut.

>Hell, when Trump gets elected, I "look forward" to watching everyone here declare themselves a liberal atheist, when SJW goes out of fashion, I'll "dread" the social outrages and tumblrisms that will infest this shithole.
I don't want to tangent too much, but that ain't happening. Brexit happened, yet the liberal media and university lefties are still in full damage control mode, slandering and bullying anyone they can. The same will happen when Trump gets elected, and since we are a sort of anti-media, it'll be business as usual.

Jay just earned a bit of respect from me. Alien is so much better than Aliens that it's hardly a debate. Not that Aliens is a bad film, though.

Fury Road was objectively superior.

MM2 does a few things better but in the end Fury Road is just better.

actually, the main reason that they gave for preferring Fury Road is that it essentially did everything that The Road Warrior did better. they compare a couple of similar sequences in the two films to show this. plus, Rich actually mentions The Road Warrior's lack of flashy visuals and more grounded aesthetic as the main advantage it has over Fury Road.

they are a bunch of faggots, road warrior is the best of all of them.

I like both.

But Fury Road can last more rewatches without growing old.

So you'd think, but I remember how this site was in the Bush years, and a large portion of the media rises and falls with who's in power rather than any concrete notions of conservatism or liberalism. Wit Trump in power, disenfranchised youth and those of childlike minds will turn to a rose colored version of how things were before (even if they claimed to hate it at the time), and there will be another shift.

Not the other user but you are acting retarded

Rob ager also said he liked FR after the first time he saw it

if your under 15 years old. The Road Warrior has been going strong for 20 years. I haven't even re-watched FR

what the fuck I hate rob ager now

>watching review
>caring about their opinions
reminder that independence day is 100% trash but the new one is worth a watch

His two part review of FR is pretty good. He talks alot about RW in it as well.

youtu.be/ev8I3Xrwmww
youtu.be/2XfUa5QVloI

Right, but this is Sup Forums, so when it says "this film is better than that film", you can be 90% sure "that film" is probably better.

Yes but then in his analysis he says he no longer tolerates shit in FR for stupid reasons and cause RW did it better or some deal

The Return of Kings faggots spread too much misinformation about the movie being somekinda feminist propaganda.
The Sup Forums cucks and feminists of course latched on that, but they were ultimately blown the fuck out since it's the most egalitarian movie out there in a long fucking time.
The "feminist"(read: 1st wave feminist) is a consultant who has worked for several decades in South Africa treating rape victims specialising on trauma.
She was hired to make the brides more realistic as rape-survivors.
The movie is an a fucking cinematic masterpiece and the best car chase ever put on film.

Do you have a link?

it's amazing how quickly I forgot about Fury Road

>The movie is an a fucking cinematic masterpiece and the best car chase ever put on film.
It's boring as fuck because it last the whole fucking run time and they double back like a bunch of retards. you can't say they don't it's fact.

Alzheimer's a bitch

>read: 1st wave feminist
I didn't know any suffragettes still alive

Fury Road is a movie summer blockbuster while Road Warrior is a cinematic work of art.

The dull of mind might not be able to see all the carefully put together layers that Road Warrior consists of, and prefer the over the top wacky action and artificial cinematography of Fury Road.

But it's really up to the viewer what they prefer.

Both are cinematic works of art.
Road Warrior hearkens back to the golden age of the blockbuster where a film like it, Aliens and Jaws could draw in large crowds, while Fury Road is one of the few films ever to look back to what etched images into the collective conscious during silent era film making and drew on that more than any blockbuster you can be likely to name.
Prefer one or the other, you're right.

So what was the deal with Mad Max 3 being PG13?

Enjoyed it as much as Fury Road but it did struck me as the odd tamest of the four Mad Maxes.

>while Fury Road is one of the few films ever to look back to what etched images into the collective conscious during silent era film making
how high are you right now

THIS.

but there all fuckin awesome.

They were trying to sell more tickets.

High on information and some semblance of knowledge of cinema history. Read or watch any interview with George Miller to get a sense of what he was attempting.

Was originally going to be a separate thing, studio pushed for Mad Max, and after his producer partner died, George pretty much just did wat they wanted and phoned it in.

Stop going against the hivemind.

Fury Road isn't 30+ years old so it literally can't be good yet.

Fucking this.

Fury Road sucks, I have only recently started watching RLM stuff but I am now convinced they are major plebs and don't even know much about movies. They like absolute trash better than an actual masterpiece. Done with trying to get into that shit, why the hell does this board like them so much? They're not even vaguely funny

As much as I loved Fury Road, I wouldn't consider it better than the Road Warrior. Fury Road was the 10 minute action sequence at the end of Road Warrior spread out into a two hour film. It was great but I really like the slow buildup to the end of RW

The first one was shit.
Also, eat shit.

>Miller does Mad Max 5
>Sup Forums starts pretending Beyond Thunderdome is the best in the franchise

What did he meme by this?

>first one is shit
It's a good film you faggot, but it was surpassed by 2 timeless classics.

patrician detected

all of them are great depending on what mood im in. im just in the fury road mood more often these days.

what i REALLY want to see now, to round it off, is a slower paced, smaller scale thing about the time before fury road. i dont want the wife, the girl, the whatever being made into some big massive dramatic thing, i just want to see how maxs car went from being practically stock, to how it is now. maybe each scene could be just the "reason" behind each modification. where and how he got the gas cans. why he rigged it to blow. i want to see max alone duking it out slowly over a few weeks with another guy, a cat and mouse game that ends with max winning but being a bunch of set pieces that basically explain and show more of the car and the lifestyle that lead up to this. where did he get the double barrel? was it cut down before he got it? has he shot anyone else with it? id say it would make a decent tv show series, but tv shows kinda suck

I think Rich didn't like SW VII?

There seems to be fairly solid consistency in the first three films though. Without Fury Road, Id have though Miller was dumb for suggesting that

>There seems to be fairly solid consistency in the first three films though.
Apart from inconsistencies like the helicopter guy.

Rich is the only one who likes Aliens more than Alien

Sorry but they have the same opinion as me therefore they're right.
Max 2 is great but Fury road is just better.

Did he run someone over with a car?

I questioned thyis myself while watching but in the end... they are right...

>I like both.
no you don't
