Does the Somali pirate have access to a .50 BMG mounted machine weapon?

what does the somali pirate have

you betcha!

an assortment of small arms

Is the Somali pirate on a cigarette boat, a yacht, a captured freighter, a cutter; what is cruising around on that supports a mounted .50 BMG and several small arms?

That machine gun the soldier is holding wouldn't do much to the thick wood sides of that ship.

And how is one soldier going to capture a ship with 100+ men on it? He has to sleep some time.

Maybe he doesn't want to capture Victory but sink it?

If he had a simple AK-47 chambered in .308 he could put holes like cheese through it provided he was close enough to mag dump..

The fact alone that he has a .50 BMG mounted gun allows him to out distance that ship by far....

Just short three round bursts of that gun will be enough to sink it as it's coming towards...and taking damage from it...

You're talking a mass of a roll of quarters travelling at 7,000 feet per second..... This will blow holes through that wood, and leave large openings; and with a lack of sealing bulkheads...that ship is done.

If he had a small fast boat and some explosives he could probably do it. Zoom in close, boom, and get out before the deck crew can even get their muskets out and have them loaded and ready to fire. It's not like they could aim cannons at a small speed boat.

Nah, the .50 BMG is enough.

And he would have a deck full of men firing muskets back at him.

50 men firing muskets probably have a higher rate of fire than one guy with an AK-47

>>.308 =/= AK
BMG =/= 7.62 x 39

please learn to gun user

Not just musket balls. Grapeshot.

OP never said that the ship had sailors on it

OP also never said the pirate had any weapons.

It's just a pirate and his bare hands vs a huge old ship. Since he is a lazy nigger pirate I think he will get tired and give up before he can destroy the ship by hand. Ship wins.

Muskets are only really accurate at half a football fields distance....he's going to be engaging them with ease at 1,000-3,500ft away....

Also, never insinuated .50 BMG was 7.62x39..

>Does it make you mad I fire 7.62x39 out of my .308 hunting rifle just fine? :^)

Ooooh! Grapeshot, even less accurate.

Tell me more about broadsiding a cigarette boat mounted with a .50bmg and it not keeping itself at a distance with superior speed?

What does the ship have on it. Does the ship have a fucking crew.
What does the pirate have? More info OP and I will decide a winrar.

He must be pretty talented driving a cigarette boat with one hand at high speed and aiming a .50 cal with the other hand with enough precision to hit a target which is "at distance" while the boat bounces across the wave tops.

It's called drive really far, sit; shoot....They get within over a football field distance.....Go far away....sit shoot; when you're talking something that fires a mass of a roll of a quarters at 7000 feet per second exploding holes the size of melons through the wood of that ship....it won't be long.

likely the pirate
>> cannons inacurate
>> muskets inacurate
even if he can't shoot through the hull if he's got enough ammo he's got the advantage

Boom.

Where does this battle occur? The HMS Victory could just stick to open ocean where a small cigarette boat could easily get into danger with large waves. You don't take something that small out in the open ocean for extended periods of time.

And if you were outside of cannon and musket range it would be hard to be precise with the .50 bmg. The rocking of the boat in the waves would mean you are just generally lobbing .50 cal bullets at a giant ship randomly hitting it somewhere and probably missing quite often.

unless he get's hit by a direct broad side in it's effective range on the approach but that's pretty unlikely for a small boat

Even environment for both playing fields. :^)

And no, if you were out of range for musket and cannons...you'd be a football field away LOL

Especially see

Depending on how much ammo it doesn't matter how much the pirate misses. If he's got the ammo he can sit there a fire till he's fouled the barrel and still be able to put enough holes in the ship to sink it.

Do you believe Nelson couldn't outsmart a Somali?

...

What if the HMS Victory maintains a distance just outside of accurate range for it's grape shot and fuck it; men with muskets too.... and broadsided all of those guns at that cigarette boat....Let's be honest, is he going to drive at all 42 of those Guns firing GRAPE shot?

Speculate.
