Okay so this sounds dumb but it's been driving me nuts. I CANNOT think of this very specific word so maybe one of you guys can figure it out.
Basically, it means to make two opposing ideas/values/things/whatever agree. For instance, "John is a great guy since he likes to save puppies from burning buildings, but he likes to stab babies which I believe is immoral. I just cannot ______ him being a good person but also a bad person at the same time."
