It's like you want me to not get laid.

I've never seen anything Alice before.

I feel like I'm in a room with my family

>being ashamed of your interests and hobbies to the point of letting it effect your life

Just give up. Stop watching anime and go do something "manly" like lumber-jacking, mining, deep-water fishing, become a soldier, or racing or something else that you think is "manly."

You obviously don't love your waifu.

ok

There's an adorable maid figurine. And another one of an imagwe I have

Yes, we are.
>implying you have one :^)

I mean I'm not into figurines or anything, I just like watching action anime. I do race, and I am a soldier kinda.

+1 for the outfit i suppose

The edgy naruto guy?

I'll probably get one too :^)
I quite literally intend to get anything and everything
>weeb bait

Oh my fucking god...

I do, you'll just never see it :^)
>so could I

Fucking acadiens smh

>The edgy naruto guy?
PFFFFTHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I genuinely fucking can't deal.

Naruto looks like trash and I would rather watch all of SAO than one episode of that

Linux is killing me, am I stupid?

Depends on what distro.

I'm sorry I'm not a huge fucking weeb and know the japanese saying for gay anime cars.

Shino the undying

Itasha is fucking legit, dude. It's an important part of Japanese car culture.

shino is a ghost

>claimu

You CHOSE to deploy to Japan. YOU ARE LITERALLY THERE RIGHT NOW! YOU ARE MORE WEEB THAN EVEN ME!

>THAN EVEN ME!
>implying you aren't a pretty low-tier weeb

The class I'm in is using CentOS 7 if that helps.

And really it feels like a lack of experience, this isn't the first time I've used CLI's or Terminals, but Linux just confuses me.

Install Gentoo.

Godie

I didn't choose to come here, I literally have no choice over where I go.

Shino hide and seek champ

Excuuuuuuse me?!
>

>>>/faggot/

I request hot glue.

Honestly I should have seen this coming.

Let me reiterate, My CLASS is using CentOS 7. As in, a class I am taking is using CentOS 7 as their class materials in learning how to use Linux.

So I really don't have a choice.

Why CentOS out of everything

The waifu you're posting is literally from an idol anime, I don't think you can hide from gay anime shit.

>

Yeah, I was just kidding. Linux can be super hard to grasp at first if you've been using Windows your whole life, I'm not great at it myself.

Denied.

Thirded.

And in my defense I've never watched said gay idol anime. Or any.

Well, the book we are using has us using both Windows 10 and Linux CentOS 7.

So, it was at the discretion of the Author.

What I honestly hate is I understand the CLI and Terminal terms and commands and blah blah blah blah blah, but I just can't see the whole picture.

HOT GLUE HOT GLUE HOT GLUE HOT GLUE

Tripple dubs demand it.
Hot glue now!

You really should. How can you say she's your waifu otherwise?

Yeah, it's probably because you think around the way that Windows works, so it's difficult to think of anything else. It's the way I am with it.

No.

Wouldn't it more be at the discretion of the teacher?
Either way CentOS is gross
What part of the whole picture do you not understand? I'm trying to understand what you mean by that
Only those who are true to DFC can request

Yea, so, as I said: Hot glue now.

Don't try to repent now, heretic
You've already been cast low by Hibiki

Oh hi shino how do you do? I'm fine Alice how about you?

Lies and slander!
LIES AND SLANDER!

still kike

Hi Alice, I'm doing well. I'm glad to hear Shino is doing well
You know it's true

still muchacho:

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

what :o

Yeah, it's just a different world but everything is, more or less, the same.

No, the author. The teacher uses his book so the author chose the material.

I think I just fucked up when I set up my machine. I really DON'T want to spend the entire day setting it back up, but I may have to.

So really I think it may just be an issue of directions.

I guess it would also be beneficial if this book explained what it was having us do more clearly or to length.

So far the book has been like
>Ok, so now we are going to partition a hard drive to accept files!
>Ok, no problem!
>Just do succdick /dir and then succdick mkfs, Subtract "t", then draw a pentagram and place a wax candle with the file system you want to use etched into it and burn it at both ends in the center of your pentagram
>mount it in a directory using the Mount command, don't forget to subtract t, and then say the magic words.

K.

chico: mierda

i don't speak kike :o

demasiado:

So wait, it's a book with 2 OS's and it's primarily focused on just one? Why even put the second one in there?

I had a netOS course and someone stole my hard drive near the end of the course. I had to set up all new VM's with the entire term worth of work in 3 days
Shit was fucking awful

>Just do succdick /dir and then succdick mkfs, Subtract "t", then draw a pentagram and place a wax candle with the file system you want to use etched into it and burn it at both ends in the center of your pentagram
This is an accurate representation of Unix file system management

It tries to split the focus evenly between Windows 10 and Linux.

But I feel the book also expects you to have used Linux before, even tho it claims to be an "Entry level book to Operating Systems."

I think my difficulties just stem from using Windows for nearly 20 years and Linux for maybe 2 months.

>edgy Naruto guy
Got my sides off to a good start with that one, thanks for the laugh.

I had a similar dilemma, not quite 20 years, probably 15 though. I found Linux to be pretty easy, but we used Mint and uhhh some Debian distro. I don't remember which anymore

System maintenance with Linux just felt so much easier to me and BASH scripting made it a piece of cake

Anastasia claimed

shino is such a cute

I feel if I just play with Linux more and learn how to break it, I can figure out how to NOT break it and actually use it.

The problem I need to overcome is simply that I have Windows 10, have been using Windows 10 for the majority of my life, and have never had to really deal with the Linux Environment. So why would I deliberately cripple myself by using an unfamiliar OS regularly?

I should do myself a favor and turn one of my old skeletons into a Linux Workstation just so I can figure out how to use it.

VMs are fine and all, but maybe the VM is throwing me off for some reason.

How about no.

>have been using Windows 10 for the majority of my life
You sure about that one?

How bout you're a faggot and you're dating someone so fuck off.

I guess I should have said "Windows for the majority of my life"

Only reason I switched to Windows 10 is because it came pre-installed on this laptop.

Wow jealous much?

It's a bit of a shift of thinking

I actually turned an old faptop into a Loonix box, it runs LUbuntu. It's a pretty nice one to get used to using, but I don't remember which familly it is. There's a huge flowchart on the wikia about which distro's are spawned from which, best to find one that is branched or near to CentOS in your case.

I found VM's pretty easy to use. It meant I could completely trash it if I needed and restart from a snapshot from just before I fucked everything up. Take them often, and name them well. Best tip anyone gave me

Pretty sure he meant Windows

...

There can only be one.

do americans really put butter on their popcorn?
who is this?

the world is gonna roll you

We do. Why? We're fat as fuck. It's also delicious odd enough

I'll probably spend Spring Break trying to figure out this Linux business. Can't be bothered to rebuild this VM cause lazy but when I have more time I may just do that.

I think for now I'll stick with CentOS 7 until I feel more comfortable using Linux, simply because I have a book for CentOS 7 and not for any other OS.

Sometimes, I prefer white cheddar or caramel tho.
