t. Old grandpa

Paul Walker? More like Paul WAKEr, haha

I Hope so.

No but robots will

Eventually I think it will. So far that technique only works if it's part of a quick cut.

they put him in the sequel of a series of fast driving cars after he died prematurely because of driving too unsafely fast ?

I remember when I heard about his death. I was texting my mom because I was abroad, told her I heard Paul Walker died in a car crash. Her reply:
>ironic

Do you have anymore pictures? That wasnt the only time they had to cgi Paul's head. There were many times throughout the movie that his head was photoshopped. Also they used footage of him from Fast 5 or 6.

And during that night building fight the reason the lighting is dark is because he wasnt at all in that scene. You see a glimpse of his face but again was photoshop.

Really amazing work.

Oh I just got this one from a quick google search of "cgi paul walker"

I don't think so.

No matter how good the quality of the rendering is, I think the animation will always stick out as unnatural. We've not really made much effort to improve the quality of character animation in special effects. I still hold the opinion that the way characters move announces their fakeness in modern films. The Spider-Man movies are a prime example.

Also shit like that Hobbit scene with Legolas.

Is it possible to learn this power?

i wonder how much it cost just to do that 5 second appearance. remember how fucked up the eyes used to look on cgi faces? now they look pretty good but the skin textures are still weird if it's not in the dark.

Jesus that is especially bad CGI, he doesn't even look real when he's not animating.

Heres one that looks cgi

The key word is eventually. With the current rate of advancement, in 50 years if we are still around we will probably have computers capable of rendering images that are indistinguishable from real life.

False it didnt look unnatural at all with Arnie.

I get these images confused (seen the original maybe 4 or 5 times but the cgi one is so realistic).

Remember: they are not fully making a cgi creation. They still had to find someone with the same body build as Arnold and the CGI'd his face but dam it is so lifelike.

there should be some kind of rules that keep you from using the image of an old actor for some shitty commercial
poor guy is rolling in his grave

he looks like channing tatum in this one

The stuff Lola FX can do nowadays is pretty impressive. It's not so much fully CGI as it is a manipulated image, though.

How is this bad? Jar Jar Binks wasnt the best full CGI yet look at video games and movies today? They improved. So yes may seem still fake now but technology keeps adapting.

The age of Trascendence will come

Ant Man has some of the best visual effects that I have ever seen in my life.

I am pissed when Disney could have done a young Han Solo film using this same technique to make Harrison young again.

Why didnt they?

his face keeps twitching all weird, is that intentional?

didn't work the first time

I remember being blown away when I saw this. Is this another actor with same build with Douglas doing voice over?

I remember seeing this in the theater and losing my damn mind at how good it was. I think part of it was that there was no promotion or teasing that he'd be in there (unlike Jeff Bridges in TRON Legacy)

$$$$$$
The scenes in Marvel movies (Hank, Tony, etc) are really short - two minutes or less and are pretty simple walk-and-talks. A full-length action movie would not only be 50 times longer but much more complex and taxing.

He wasn't driving.

I think an entire movie would be tough to pull off, not to mention tedious for the actors.

It would be a prohibitively extensive amount of work to do an entire movie, there's a reason that Ant-Man scene was only two minutes long.

Also, Harrison Ford is so old, his performance would be impaired. Did you see him try to run in TFA?

They should have just got this guy:

youtube.com/watch?v=vwLv993khfI

I doubt Ford would want to do it anyway, he wanted his character killed off way back at the end of episode 5.

How expensive is this technology/how long until we can extend it to pornography/how illegal would that be?

still image doesnt seems too bad

but its weird to watch the actual footage

The interesting thing is that what we consider reality is actually a simulation being run inside a computer from an advanced civilization. We are the cgi

Stand-in

Probably not.

For Americans, full CGI movies are for children regardless of their content.

Not to mention CGI Paul Walker looks fucking creepy.

This may be correct and it explains why we get Mandella effects sometimes and glitches that occur in real life i.e. ghosts and things that just happen with no meaning

You're not wrong

They already have.

...

It brings back nostalgia to early 2000 games

Not for centuries.

I posted a Mandella effect thread one on /x/ and got banned because apparently there was already a thread that got archived an our earlier that I wasnt aware of.

Why would I go back there

your mom sounds like a fucking whore

WAIT HOL UP...
Does this mean Chekov gets to live in a 4th Star Trek movie?

I am surprised JJ hasnt thought of this ideq

I remember seeing this in theaters and laughing at it.

*Paul walkER

Fucking agreed, that Audrey Hepburn shilling chocolate ad was fucking weird too, seems really disrespectful to unearth some dead person to shill your product

bro I can't fucking wait for virtual/augmented reality CGI pornography

It's Michael Douglas wearing a wig, see this deleted scene where he hasn't been de-aged:
youtube.com/watch?v=q3VqiSyJJtU
There may have been a stand in used, maybe for long shots or his back or something, but it is mostly Douglas.

may look okay here. But looks like dogshit while moving

>tfw we could have gotten a Harold Ramis CGI cameo in the new Ghostbusters

Yelchin isn't that important or hot enough to get a CGI double.

Only some Tumblr girls were obsessed with him. Chekov will disappear and no one will even notice.

Looking this up on youtube as I stopped watching Fast and Furious after the Tokyo one.

>tfw it would've bombed harder than NuGhostbusters

I had to google who he was and who he played.
Still only have a rough idea

Getting into the wrong hands would cause a fappening apocalypse

holy fuck what a shitty death

They've improved a lot since then.

...

Ah, a contrarian has appeared.

Do you think in the future you will be able to buy VR dating simulators with your celebrity crush?

not that good in movement, that's the problem

...

>implying the cgi was bad
>implying the cgi is what caused the film to crash and burn

Kinsglaive looks like crap btw.

Why does this look fantastic yet the new Godzilla and Attack on Titan movies look abysmal?

FFXV will be GOTY

Being this mad

Looks like a Tekken cut scene from ps2.

Looks more like a video game.

It won't.

When based Oliver Reed died during the filming Gladiator; The Mill created a digital body double for the remaining scenes involving his character Proximo by photographing a live action body-double in the shadows and by mapping a three-dimensional computer-generated imagery mask of Reed's face to the remaining scenes during production at an estimated cost of $3.2 million for two minutes of additional footage.

Already happened, flawlessly

WELCOME TO THE UNCANNY VALLEY

Do you rike it?

That's not Avatar.

I think it will be a toss up between Deus Ex and FFXV. Nothing has stunned me this year outside of Fire Emblem, Monster Hunter, Doom and Dark Souls. I want to say Overwatch but the multiplayer-only forces me to omit it.

youtube.com/watch?v=gx9eDoS76LM

It can work, but I just want it so we can have more qt Hepburn

>Why does this look fantastic yet the new Godzilla and Attack on Titan movies look abysmal?

Budget. Square Enix have their own CGI studio, so it's much cheaper to shit out CGI.

Blur Studios, the guys in the West that can actually do better CGI than Square Enix, charge 1 million USD per minute of CGI. Just to give you an idea, how expensive it is.

>Audreymind
But yeah, this is the best execution of it yet.

But fucking seriously how was she so perfect?

It'll win for it's category, but nothing more. FF only matters to maybe half the gamer population.
It would take the world by storm if it dropped the FF from its title.

that wireframe is completely fucking off

>have technology to 'resurrect' dead idols
>waste it on shit ads

He has a fucking animatronic play-doh face

it doesn't cost much actually, the prices are just inflated because jews are known to use the film industry to launder money. CGI is actually made from computer (CGI means computer generation images) so any decent pc can produce cgi

youtube.com/watch?v=nGl_2gYrfM0

>head literally disappearing into the roof of the car

lel

Yes the PC automatically generates CGI while the army of lackadaisical Korean animators come in and pick up the paycheck.

You will but your waifu will refuse to licence her appearance. Sure you could go for a fan made bootleg but the late night cuddle animations are all jumpy and the scene where she makes you pancakes and asks you about your day makes your rig crash every time.

what ps4 game is that?

Blur are fucking great

Get back to me when they make a CGI Grace Kelly

They're almost there. Just need to improve the whole thing in motion and it's all ogre. Imagine bringing back actors from the dead.

Can someone explain why CGI is so expensive? Does it take an insane amount of time?

>Blur will probably never animate a full movie
why live

maybe our real life cgi isn't that good
we think it's good because we don't know how is it outside the simulation

it could be realer than real life

I thought young RDJ was more impressive

This is all mo-cap right?

A lot of time, a lot of work, a lot of R&D.

The improvement of technology doesn't mean the quality of CGI will magically better. As the detail put into it gets finer and finer, that just means more work is being done. More man-hours. This is an unavoidable factor

I don't think so. I think it's all computer animated.

Why does all CGI look like it has been wrapped in plastic?
