Just got this for the first time, fuck

Just got this for the first time, fuck.
Cumcast now has a hard data cap and will shut off your net if you go over 1tb a month
Anyone else getting this, what the fuck can we do about it?

fuck

switch isps

competitors are much slower and shittier in my area

Never used comcast, but cox has a 3tb warning and verizon has a 2tb warning.Go to one of them

This is because you cucks elected trump, who will take down net neutrality and let the ISPs control prices and service......without letting in new competition.

Most Americans do not have more than two broadband options. Many only have one. That's why this should be something EVERYONE rallies against.

This could go down as trump's biggest mistake, the one that loses his base.

Why are you using so much data

You actually have limits on your internet in the USA? How much do you pay, and why don't you use your remaining GBs each month sending them thousands of emails complainging about it at the end of each month? it's not like you can save up data from month to month.

>Cumcast now has a hard data cap and will shut off your net if you go over 1tb a month

No, you get 3 courtesy strikes per year, if you use them all, then you get charged $10 for a 50 GB block.

wew lad
i forgot today was 4/28/16
thought it was 2/28/17
weird
anyone else doing this too?

Netflix on a few devices is all it takes. I cant imagine what would happen if i had 4k netflix on a 4k TV.

they wont cut you off dumbass, they will charge you more if you go over.

This. Only Google Fiber competes with them where I live, but I'm pretty sure you need a satellite for it.

sorry that photo is not mine (OP) but I got a similar warning today that said i had 100 gigs left out of 1024

You have google fiber in your area and are not using it?

>The fuck is wrong with you, it's the best, cheapest and fastest internet possible.

I didn't know it was 2016

Emails are too small for that. You'd have to automate the process and it'd be slow due to the proof-of-work required to send emails

OP here, ive got 100 gigs left and today is my last day, how do i send 4k gay porn to comcast customer service?

I'm not paying for my internet now. Besides, it's available "in my area" I haven't checked their service map, but that might not include where I live.

We have autistic prices here in Canada ($66/month gets you 15mb up/512kb down lol) but at least no shitty data caps.

As email attachments, but it might get bounced back by their firewall

honestly id prefer that to a data cap

Just checked. Their service ends just down the street from me. Even if I were paying for internet Comcast is my only option

512kb dl is a data cap in and of itself.

Wow...I didn't know Comcast is owned by NBC.
Just what did you do with that much data anyway? Did you waste them on porn or playing online games? Are you still living with your parents and a jobless loser or something to have so much time to waste on the net?

It's still a soft-cap for data. Even you have torrents/downloads scheduled 24/7 you'd still only be able to download so much

thats upload

fuck you

a few devices running netflix, you do the fucking math

According to Netflix here is the amount of data you will use per hour: 0.7 GB per hour for SD (Standard Definition) 3 GB per hour for HD (High Definition) 7 GB per hour for UHD (Ultra High Definition also known as 4K)

plus steam downloads

fuck me I meant the other way around

thats like downloading 2 movies an hour, 24/7
why would you use this much

its called having more than one person in your household asshole

lol you amerifags still paying per mb/gb/tb ???
so 1990`s and with trumptard you`re going to fuck it up even more.

I pay aprox 80$ a month for 1gbps up/down and no limits on usage.

ah that makes more sense. very expensive though.

then you need to pay more money for a higher cap. do you really think internet service would work if it was unlimited for the same price?

with a household of 4, thats still 4 people watching movies NONSTOP 24/7

When's the last time you downloaded steam games? Someone also posted Netflix streaming breakdowns. It's not that fucking hard to hit cap with a bunch of tech users in one house

do they even make wi-fi adapters that can go faster than 150 mbps? wtf how are you even getting close to 1gbps up let alone down

If we could get 1gb/s up/down with no limits here, 1 person per neighborhood would have internet service hooked up and everyone would share it

4 people awake 24/7 watching movies separately 24/7:
.7Gb(movie) x 4(people)=2.8Gb
2.8Gb x 24(hours) = 67.2
67.2Gb x 30(days) = 2016
2016Gb / 2(2hour long movies)
1008Gb

you've reached your cap bc ur household is movie addicted vampires

Noticed this too. Good thing because I had an essay due on 3/1/2017

Yup im 150% over.. Fucking bullshit monopoly.

Go the fuck outside and get some vitamin D if you're watching that much shit.

yes, yes it would. What matters is bandwidth at any given time which is controlled by the 30 Mbps cap or whatever your plan is, data over time means nothing and hurts no one

keep shilling for comcast

games on steam are like 80 gigs a piece

I don't have a data limit on my internet service, per se, but I have only one ISP available and they charge $70 for 10Mbps. I couldn't even reach a terabyte in a month if I wanted to, so it's almost like an artificial limit?

you dont know math

my math says that 10Mbps can download 108 megabytes a day, for 3200 a month

thats assuming its 10 megabits and not megabytes a second, if it was bytes it would be
25,000 gigs a month

are you fucking retarded?

HD video, assuming 8mbps, is 3.6GB/hr. Assuming 4 people watching movies, that's 28.8GB in 2 hrs.

But people don't watch one movie. Ever hear of binge-watching? People watch like 5 hours plus of TV a day in this fucking country. With a family streaming different HD video, say five hours a day on overage, four different people, you hit your data cap in 14.2 days.

Woops, guess it's time to set QoS and throttle streaming websites on your router. Then grab your ankles .

holy shit motherfucker, this is exactly what they've been doing for the longest time. If the ISP's would invest in the infrastructure they were given billions in taxpayer dollars a decade ago in order to build out, we'd all be able to run at fucking google fiber speeds. But no, why invest in infrastructure, when there's a larger profit to be made metering access and charging for overages

this is why ISP's should be classified as a utility and regulated as such. Internet access is a MUST for participating in the modern economy, and shittery like this will fuck everyone over.

i meant 108 gigs

Cox is rolling out 1tb caps. Mine just started on the 20th on the east coast. 1024gb a month and anything over is $15 for 50gb. We average 1.6tb of data usage a month so trying to teach my family to use less data is fun.

Wow you all get 1 tb a month with blazing fast speed . I get 1200 Mb a month with shittest speed anyone can imagine.
