Fuck off pleb.
...
>bait
no
Nope. I like johnny cash but this is a butchering of the original song. The original NIN song has so much more depth to it, like the distorted guitar and ambient noises in the background. Trent's whispering voice fits the song much better than Cash's. This version just feels way too clean with its generic sounding guitar chords. Sorry for the autism but this really gets on my nerves
First song that came to my mind
youtube.com
this
Nobody ever talks about this one. It's worth it for the bass alone. youtu.be
any song dead kennedys covered
Fought the Law was nowhere close to the Clash's
THERE MUST BE SOME WAY OUT OF HERE
>American ska punk

The addition of Em is lovely
That version was more about the lyrics anyway.
Something about Radiohead and his lifeless voice, if you get some guy with a different pitch the song just becomes amped up by 20.
Radiohead is still great, I just think this is better
I puked a little desu.
>WHEN YOU FUCK WITH USSSS
Jesus how can he be anymore edgier?
You must have enjoyed that vomit flavour seeing how it's what you like.

Literally could not play it any better
the best Trent cover

I tend to enjoy panic!'s music but I fucking HATE this karma police cover
>not posting the superior vision
youtube.com
>Where Did you sleep last night
>better than Lead Belly
I'm not even user and I disagree with you, only thing lead belly's has is the grainy background cause of the recording equipment, Kurt Cobain screaming at the end makes the song 10x's better user.
The fact that people think this is better than the original completely blows my mind.
The original was an emotional experience the first time I heard it. There is so much pain in Trent's voice, so much emotion and the music complimented it all.
The Cash version just sounded generic. Like Johnny forcing it. It just sounded fake compared to Trent's version.
Basically every Nirvana cover.
Yeah I agree, I saw the Cash version used in the Logan trailer and it legitimately pissed me off because I knew a bunch of faggots were either going to think it was cash's original song or flood the NIN version's video with "Liek if Hugh Jackman sent you here XD".
>Somehow made a David Bowie song even better
Based Cobaine
Except Plateau
Best Nirvana cover is Lake of Fire
I still firmly believe that this cover is the greatest synthpop song of all time.
Best NIN cover coming through:

Funnier version at the very least
Apparently Spacemen 3 got really offended and cancelled the split single they were planning to release because of it
every song jeff buckley has covered
jimi boy hendrix - like a rolling stone
lol cash took a nu-metal cringefest and actually made the world take the most melodramatic song of all time seriously for a second. Reznors version sucks and he even thinks Cash did a better job.
did anyone know this existed?
Post malone covering bob dylan. not fucking bad
i agree, lol i give him credit for his songwriting but the song was not well executed. Definitely enjoy johnny cashs version way more
Both of these covers are fucking horrid, especially the Karma Police one.
Why did he decide to make shitty hip hop instead of becoming a singer-songwriter?
youtube.com
almost sounds like the song was written for her :/
The sound of silence by Disturbed

By far
>De Staat
Saw these guys supporting Muse, pretty good band

It isn't better than the original but I would say it's just as good. I don't get why so many people despise it.
You are absolutely right, it's a waste getting upset with the plebs, they just don't know any better.
iirc Gira doesn't like it
I know, senpai.
>literally the Linkin Park of the 90s
>calling anyone else pleb
I enjoy NIN but at least im aware that they are a pleb band
Gira doesn't seem to like an awful lot of his work though, hence why reissues have different takes, why some didn't get reissued until recently etc.
Johnny thunders - great big kiss
This. People who think the NIN version is better are just being contrarians. The song is much more powerful without the distorted guitars, whiny ass vocals, and other assorted wankery. When you hear the Cash version you feel the pain of a man who's been to hell and back. Reznor's version sounds like it was made by an edgy 12 year old whose mom took his xbox away. Even Trent himself was fucking blown away by how great Johnny made that song.
Because shitty hip hop pays a lot better nowadays
Kinda obligatory:
Big Black - The Model
youtu.be
this has to be bait
its not faggot, NIN version sucks
you heard the original first
other people (like me) heard this version first
wanna who likes which version?
also you're probably considering the original as part of its album, but not not giving similar consideration to the cover
Except that post was slagging off Johnny's version and singing the praises of NIN's
oh yes, fuck NIN version.
clearly these two songs
youtube.com
covers that completely change the meaning of the song(without changing the lyrics) are best covers desu
bit less distortion and I would agree
every time i hear kurt speak i want to kill myself. how on earth did he get so popular as a front man?
You couldn't be more wrong. Nirvana's covers of the Meat Puppets suck
the answer that is the most obscure, the most obvious, and the most correct
how the fuck has this been posted yet?
youtube.com
this is good
good call
truth
eh
not true.
>Kurt Cobain screaming at the end makes the song 10x's better user.
ignore the very 90's music video
youtube.com
someone said it earlier, just didnt link it
because it's garbage
kinda hard to be worse than the original tho haha
which devo song is this? i dont regocnize it
youtube.com
huge improvement on the original
it's a good cover of third uncle.... because third uncle already sounded like a typical indie song from 1982 when it was released in 1974... it's not better than the original because it took balls to release the original when people were like "wtf is this shit"...
I actually king of agree on the AAF one desu
Pretty much their only good song, mind you
Hey Sup Forums, what're your thoughts on Syd Barrett's solo work away from pink floyd?
shit
IVE FUCKED UP AND POSTED WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A NEW THREAD HERE RIIIIIIIIP IM SORRY GUYS
kys
limp bizkit - faith
the only good song they ever recorded
youtube.com
Even Gary Numan has said it's superior to his.

Here's The Body and Thou playing a live set together. This was the first time I checked either band out. Didn't realize the first song was a cover (Marilyn Manson - Irresponsible Hate Anthem) and loved it, thought it was fuckin awesome 2 drummer stoner stuff. I was disappointed to hear what these bands actually sound like, but the first song they play in this video is awesome. Looks like so much fun to play.
Thanks Mike.
My favorite covers.
