What's Going On????

How did some crappy $4.9 million scary movie that cost 3% of Ghostbusters $144 million budget make more money??

misogyny

it was produced by Based Wan

It's still gonna get a sequel you whiny manchild.

Can't ban the Wan

but the lead in that movie is also a female sooooo

If Sony insists on burning money, sure why not. It sure was an entertaining trainwreck so far.

Jewlywood is really upping their chutzpah, now they care more about pushing """progressive""" socialist agendas than making shekels.

Horror movies, when done right, are relatively cheap to make. But they can gross a lot of money.

Michael Bay works very well as a producer on a budget, he's know for very good returns on low budgets from his Platinum Dunes productions.

Good, I enjoy seeing self destructive behavior.

That actually is a neat tidbit.

I don't doubt it considering Sony has made a good decision since PS2 was released.

This piece of shit angered me. I feel like these movies get a pass since its an established title, but did any of you guys watch this shit? A girl killed cause she didnt get a candy bar. Dont care what you guys say about ghostbusters (which i am curious to see when a torrent is out) but purge was by far the worst thing i ever seen and i saw that shit for free.

>there are 5 Ice Age films

I typically don't watch movies like The Purge. But I am somewhat intrigued but very inexpensive movies that have a high profit multiplier (I don't know the correct term for that).

Horror movies as of late seem to gross well. Also, religious movies gross well while being cheap to make.

I don't understand the business of making movies. But I guess movies get so expensive because of actors and CGI. Sometimes I feel like the stupid movies I enjoy don't get sequels because they spend so much on the budget. People like the movie but it isn't popular enough to overcome the hundreds of millions to cost to make/advertise the movie.

Inching ever closer towards making back its production budget...

FOREIGN
PROFITS
DON'T
MATTER

1/10 bait

First week vs second week.

breaking even =/= profitable

>yfw he makes Aquaman for 25 million and it brings in 500

Also leaving out the $100 million Sony spent advertising that if you don't see this you are a misogynist shitlord.

Star trek got 3 times more in 4 days than gb2016 got in a week

Small budget.
Target Demographics.
Folks want comfy predictability (ghost horror flicks).
GB was made by name alone, not concept.

and I was mad that BvS didn't make enough money.... jesus christ, I couldn't give less of a shit about the new GB but being a fan must be suffering at this point

Is Ghostbusters going to bomb?

It's going to underperform, but retards will think it's successful because it will gross more than the production budget.

>only made $86 million out of $144
>dropping like a rock
>no showings in China

you sure about that?

It's at $122 or something worldwide. This is "proof" to the retards that it's a success.

>being a fan must be suffering at this point
They likely feel quite vindicated that a soulless cash-in isn't doing well.

It will do under Pixels level success, which sounds about right.

Now that it clearly flopped in its second weekend, it's really interesting seeing the crazy amount of silence from all the websites that were singing it's praises a week ago.

A ticket in a theater costs 10-20 times less than a videogame copy. At the same time production cost of the game is several times less than one of a movie. How is that possible?

People have been asking this since that first paranormal flick, Sup Forumsedditor

Sony isn't willing to pay them

Also funny seeing Paul Feig being silent on Twitter

> but being a fan must be suffering at this point

A true fan hates this pile of shit with every fiber of their being.

now compare how many people buy movie tickets to video games and how much a Blueray costs and how many those sells
