I know it's not without it's faults but I'm really enjoying this one, not even baiting

i dont have one

NORMIES OFF MY BOARD

leave him alone

its up there for me definitely. Love and God should have been left off though.

...

Not in order other than sections.

>KEKS ON SWOLE LIKE HAA HAAA

thought this wasn't out yet? looking forward to hearing it

Kelly Lee Owens is really good, need to get round to listening to the new William Basinski record as well

why so biiig?

SAINT TEREEESAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA OF AVILA

nice chart!

>HNDRX
>not the new carti
W E W L A D

carti's album is on my typed list but its just not in the top 6 sry

Bump

Says you

the vocalist on the world of grief record is something special

scorpio violente - the stalker

which one of these would you recommend the most?

r8, h8, recc

my autism relates to this hard

nicole is a babe

hope she doesn't ruin her voice

There's been a lot of good albums released so far this year but these are the only two albums I'd actually call great

youtube.com/watch?v=ULBSm_CzIBg

If you haven't heard new Blanck Mass definitely check that out
New Carsten Jost was also pretty solid too
The Kelly Lee Owens LP was surprisingly good too, female-fronted ambient pop that goes full techno in lots of places

>Ryan Adams

great songwriter and the music on that album is good. the lyrics suck but i can overlook that

People Pleaser and Cotes curtos

...

>when aoty did jan 01

oh shit, i completely forgot bing and ruth were coming out with something new this year, i gotta check this out
thanks op

Ayy Remo Drive

These are the albums I enjoyed so far, can someone recommend me some great albums based on my shitty taste?

nice, going to check out ryan adams

such a killer record, a bit slower than his EPs but just as great

glad to see turinn on modern love

with grid this time

It's his best yet.

Where tf do you people find all these new albums you like so fast? I've listened to maybe 8-10, half of which were garbage

people bloat their lists in an attempt to come off as eclectic

>>>>>

...

not really. we're already 4 months into 2017, if you listened to 3 new albums a week you'd be at like 50 albums already.

Also Mono No Aware and Ulver

been on repeat for me

Close call between pic related and Colour Haze - In Her Garden

Bump

i mean, at least you've got kelly lee owens up there

yeah nice math user, but that implies that half of those "3 new albums a week" are AOTY material. its excessive

For me it's
1. Narkopop
2. Everywhere at the End of Time Stage 2
3. HENDRXX
4. Common As Light
5. Drunk
I have got to hear this new Sun Araw album for real

tight. this is the only industrial-type techno i've really been able to fuck with

Narkopop, Mono No Aware, and pic related

this has been sitting in my backlog for a while, is it good?

rateyourmusic.com/collection/Androol/recent/

how'd you get your hands on idylls? i didnt see it on soulseek and i dont have enough cash to cop anything from pacificity atm

it's not excessive if it's just a chart of enjoyable 2017 albums

AOTY doesn't mean "Enjoyable Release of the Year"

Sup Forums's elitism is dead

And what's your aotysf?

have you not been in /aoty/ threads before? its not just for posting that single aoty, but as a broader discussion for releases in the year. its so much more useful to see a chart, rather than a single album. i can see from a chart, oh, this dude liked x album and y album, we have similar tastes, maybe the other albums in that chart are good too, etc.

i've been active in aoty threads since 2013 and as far as i've seen it's always been like this

this sounds really cool, listening to it now

Why am I the only one who uses rym for this? It's so much better in literally every way.

...

>"wahh why isn't everyone just posting the same one album"
>"wahhh SURELY you cant like all this music"
>"wahhh muh semantics"

rym is great, but so are aoty threads. There's been heaps of times I've been recommended albums or seen them here, and listened to them and loved them.

>>"wahhh SURELY you cant like all this music"

>all THIRTY of these are the best album of the year (BTW ITS APRIL!)

Obviously

No I mean rym vs charts. Rym is so perfect for this and charts are so fucking annoying. If someone's rym is so clogged with old albums then they should just make a new account for the current year. That takes literally about 5 seconds and requires zero extra work the whole year in addition to the countless benefits over a chart which I insist is just a hold over from muh image board

What program is used to make this chart?

guess it just comes to preference then. personally i prefer the layout of charts vs the list style of rym

Yeah it's called a topic for discussion. If someone insists that one of my 30 albums "tied" for aotysf is significantly better then I'd love to hear why.

>Yeah it's called a topic for discussion.

No one with a chart of 30 albums ever discusses the albums in depth beyond "Yeah I like it more than their last album". Prove me wrong.

So where is your chart anyway?

What album is that?

Wtf we've done this about every day for years. And did I imply anyone did that? I simply said I'd love it if they did. Offhand the last discussion I had was about my only 3.5 instead of my 30 or so 4.0s

i've hardly listened to anything new this year so i haven't rated anything on it yet, only just getting back into music

Oh well you should try using rym for this instead it'll help. And I mean you could still do anchart too. No reason you cant do both. I just don't see any purpose in a chart aside from causing me extra work for nothing more than a few (you)s simply because I conformed. A person has to click on the chart the same as clicking on my link what's the difference? Except that my link is infinitely more versatile and useful.

90% of this is shit

what's the one with the squiggly parthenon?

>all THIRTY of these are the best album of the year
said no one ITT

did you listen to anything else at all?

this probably isnt even kendricks favorite album

>all these charts with no labels
why do you do this to me. what's even the point of having a chart and showing it to people if there's no way of identifying the music

Help start the rym renaissance with me

>thought this wasn't out yet? looking forward to hearing it
It leaked a week or two ago. It's on Soulseek and someone from /jazz/ shared it too. Should still be in the archive.

Planning for Burial's new album is soooo good. Probably my pick for AOTY

i've tried it but it's not for me. i love rym for the charts though (like how you can search specifically based on year, genre, country, etc.)

here's my chart i did for 2015/ pretty nice visually, all the information in 1 place and easy to read.

world eater hasnt quite compelled me yet - not sure why - will check out those others
thanks
got a sneaky copy from spencer himself quite recently! should be on soulseek

Either this or Thundercats new LP. I haven't really been up to speed on what's going on.

i sleep
