Maybe a name change is in order

You don't think one thread in five getting over 100 replies is good enough?

Fuck no

Just call it shoegaze and leave out all the dream pop explanation

Okay, I revisited this because of your post.

Original opinion: Bad, too spacey
Revisited opinion: Snoozefest. Still I think it's too spacey (it could do without samples of space & the recordings talking about space). It has some nice droney melodies at best

Afraid we can't do that, kiddo.

any recs like this?

fantastic wall of noise, great motoring music:

loskowalski.bandcamp.com/releases

This is pretty good..

Check this out if you never heard of it similar to wall of noise.

ps://lacasaalmare.bandcamp.com/album/this-astro-ep

No.

kinda too late for that

holy shit this is wonderful. thank you brothrr!

henlo friends, what have you been listening to recently?

The one on the last thread "You'll never get to heaven - Images" is really good. I rec it to all dream pop fans

Unexplained Aerial Bursts is better

what are some albums that definitely aren't shoegaze but have a shoegaze sound?

Drop Nineteens - Delaware

...

Anyone still into Japanese Shoegaze? Still have a few invites for JPOPSUKI. Yes I'm a dweeb.

that is definitely shoegaze

why

therocketboys.bandcamp.com/album/20000-ghosts

Hey nice shill you fucking fuck, go back to the Bandcamp thread

bampu~

It's funny you say this, this is the first time I've ever seen this album.

It's not like he's shilling as hard as Tangible Rays is, or if he is I've not seen it.

rateyourmusic.com/release/album/mx_80_sound/crowd_control/
Obsessive Devotion is shoegaze, but a decade earlier.

Is it true that the only good ambient albums are recorded to tape?

probably not

I'm a pleb how is this not shoegaze?

I'm pretty sure it actually is

soooo is there no answer to his question then?

if D19 is shoegaze then why isn't sonic youth or galaxie

Regardless of whether it's "proper" shoegaze I think all these bands fall into the purview of this thread but especially Spacemen 3 because MBV have cited them as an influence several times

ummm shugazitards?!?! why isn't there anyone talking about this youtube.com/watch?v=8vFHPdbHrMQ ? The glitchy part is kinda weird since I haven't heard anything like this from Ride before but it works.

More like whirr?

>why isn't there anyone talking about this

it's not particularly good imho

I'm not saying they don't. He asked for people that use shoegaze that aren't really shoegaze... which those all fit their.

They aren't REALLY shoegaze at their core but they use parts of that sound.

you should definitely check out Horte's s/t

who should.

just in general?

you all
yes

Try newmoon - space

New Ride track is pretty good

Because everyone on Sup Forums requires pitchfork or melon head to validate their opinion first

amen

That's definitely not true with this general. I can't even remember the last time either of those things reviewed any /shugazi/ things.

I seriously can't get into Rice doesn't feel like shoegaze just reverbed Britpoo

Download link?

hmm found it on spotify

google gave me this soundcloud.com/svart-records/horte-saatto

When I first tried this album, I didn't really care for it and kinda left it at that. When I saw how frequently people(?) mention how good it was, I was kinda skeptical. Though that's more past experience with this board than anything else.

I gave it another try and holy shit it actually is pretty good. Gotta thank you guys for this one.

I gave their latest LP a go when it was posted a little while ago and really liked it.

what are your favorite shugaze songs/bands that make you feel the most emotions?

Also Swoon by the same band

How bout bands like Yuck and songs like Planet Telex

I know there's nothing like V:D:C but is there any electronic shoegaze with a similar feel without the glitch elements?

On second thought, is there anything like Alura? It's closer to what I want though I think I might have to search outside of shoegaze for it.

works for me

The Depreciation Guild is the best non-Sweet Trip electronic shoegaze, for sure.

Planet Telex isn't really shoegazey.

I've heard that one and like it. It's pretty good. Other electronic shoegaze I tried are Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts (didn't too much for it) and things Wild Nothing has put out (also liked.)

Haven't tried this one yet. I've had my eye on it for a little while now and pretty much only put it off because a) the archive was down at the time and b) it wasn't on the archive when I checked. Then I realized I could have just heard it on the bandcamp page while making this post.

Still open to suggestions though on this and

>(didn't too much for it)
Meant to say that I didn't like it that much.

Yeah, SPC ECO is pretty good, enjoy it user.

alright which albums on here should the new slowdive and jamc replace

i remember one guy saying the new kairon;irse wasn't really shugazi so ill probably end up replacing that, but it would be good to hear some more input by people who've heard other good 2017 shit

New JAMC was weak as fuck

Ruination is a good album, but yeah it's definitely not shoegaze.

Are Yellow and Chinese Sleep Chant by Coldplay Shoegaze?
Is Columbia by Oasis shoegaze?
Is this shoegaze?
youtube.com/watch?v=ZwpNYvRMthc

alright then i guess for now ill replace ruination with slowdive
also im not sure if the suburban deer one is actually shugazi enough so if i decide it isn't i'll put jamc in there

ok im actually listening to the "this blizzard...." suburban deer track and i think it's pretty shugazi and im into it so it stays

Here's some very nice dream ambient I just came across, beautiful soundscapes and female vocals
soundcloud.com/eternall

Just finished and I did. Was worth it.

youtube.com/watch?v=OUp5_o_i3uA
A lot tighter than his old stuff, which I kind of like even if it doesn't have the emotional resonance of something like Goodbye

listened to Ruination for the first time today and HOLY FUCK it's incredible

but yeah not shugazi
