I've got a punk blog. Check it out. All the punk info you need.

Fourhorsesasses.blogspot.com

idk what this guy has on his blog but off the top of my head the essential hardcore/punk list is
-Stooges - s/t or Raw Power
-Ramones - s/t or RtR
-Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks
-Clash - s/t
-Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit
-Black Flag - Damaged
-Green Day - not too sure actually but anything before/including dookie
just remember punk is more of a live/singles thing
making an album with a label is basically "selling out"

Pere Ubu - The Modern Dance
Chrome - Half Machine Lip Moves
PiL - First Issue
Wire - Chairs Missing
This Heat - Deceit
Swell Maps - Jane From Occupied Europe
Mission of Burma - Signals, Calls and Marches

still the greatest Punk album ever made

Insomniac is the closest Green Day's ever come to Punk

i wouldnt really call this punk, but the melvins is somewhat punk, its contents primarily consist of sludge metal, stoner rock, etc... but some bands i'd suggest are black flag, dead kennedys, agent orange, and circle jerks.

...

Underrated

...

...

Is there some post-punk album or band somewhere in between the noise and energy of Mission of Burma and the art-ier stuff of Talking Heads and late Wire?

I fucking love vs. and all 3 of the first Wipers albums and as much as I love stuff like Remain In Light or Chairs Missing it feels like it's kind of missing the edge of those albums
I also fuckin love JD/New Order/related

Wire - Chairs Missing
Refused - The shape of Punk To Come
Crass - The Feeding of the 5000
Hüsker Dü – Zen Arcade
The Cramps - Gravest Hits

static age

...

obligatory

you suck, your taste in punk music is entryist at best , pedestrian at worst. i hope your 13 , atl;east that would be a valid excuse, if your older your just a filthy smelly stupid poor person who likes the most basic shit.

fucking kill yourself pls, not even a good greenday album

>m-muh obscure punk

please go away

best black flag album

...

looking to get more into punk. Anything a lil less entry level that I should check out?

he wont name any

Correct. It is a great Green Day album.

...

Stoner witch is better

Insomniac is the best Green Day record and anyone who disagrees is wrong

That's not Damaged

FUCK NEGATIVE CAPABLITY CHECK IT OUT IS THE NAME OF THE ALBUM BY URINALS

Perfect
I've heard a couple songs by The Fall but I thought they were brilliant. Thanks for the rec user

Definitely meant to put Queers - Beat Off for Q

Removing Jawbreaker is sacrilegious. Fight me

Black flag and minor threat and bad brains not real punk? your a new jack who dosent even go to shows , you dont know anything

are you trying to find Television

Die Ärzte - Die Bestie in Menschengestalt
Egotronic - C'est Moi
Feine Sahne Fischfilet - Scheitern & Verstehen

Sonic Youth's first Lp as well, any band that tunes their instruments before recording can't be called punk

Punk AOTY

I bet you think you can only be punk while wearing a run-down leather jacket and doc's

Television rules but they're not exactly there. If there was an album that was like Marquee Moon but with more of the energy that See No Evil has then that would be exactly what I'm looking for.

I've only heard Marquee Moon though and I probably need to listen to it again so

Nobody on this board knows anything about punk

>every punk thread there's one faggots that complains mew knows nothing about punk
>doesn't post anything else so obviously he knows nothing either

In every discussion about punk there is that one person who knows the whole scene and is able to accurately define - but, of course, not put into words - what punk really is.
