The issue was the play was whistled dead and the kicker was defenceless.
Also typically different than rugby. No nfl kicker actually holds the ball, only place kicks from behind am offensive line. Typically you block the ball not hit the kicker, since the kickwr never has possession and it's impossible to stop the kick.

so this is my issue with this play.
on an offside, a play isn't considered dead right away, the play is allowed to continue, sometimes resulting in an even better result for the offense.
so when this uppity nigger blatantly roughed the kicker, shouldn't the offense be able to decline the offside and take the roughing penalty instead?
it's really just shit-tier officiating. roughing should have been called, but wasn't because to the officials "the play was dead" except it WASN'T dead. what the fuck, fuck the NFL.
