I don't know why I even bother to write in this thread, but it hasn't even opened in many overseas markets yet (eg Germany)
shit movie though

They won't save it.

>only out 2 weeks
>a few matinee screenings away fro 144 million
>don't think its been released in china yet.

hur durr, it didnt do well in spain and it hasn't Broke even yet. it's a flop.

they are still A go for a sequel and this shit Is clearly going to pass 144 million an be profiTable.

the usual biggest earners (outside US) are China and UK to which its banned in China and came out 4 days earlier than US in the UK

This kind of stupidity needs to be squashed.

>not subtle at all
>still went over Sup Forums's heads
Is this board the most retarded on Sup Forums?

that look on her face is so infuriating

>movie doesnt break even in 2 weeks
straight to dvd sequel

This post is just copy/pasted in every thread discussing Ghostbusters box office takings.

It almost has its budget back you retard

Its fine. Now that blonde cunt making stupid faces the entire run of the picture in lieu of jokes was obnoxious.

Nnnnnope. Learn 2 movie budget.

>2 weeks
>hasn't even made back its production budget yet
Yeah, it's going to be fine. Chalk this up as another win for sony.

>+its marketing budget (usually anything upto 100% of the production budget)
>+interest on the loan taken out to fund the movie

I dont have a clue how much the jews will charge hollywood in interest rates, but if it were 3% like standard, the studio needs about $275m to break even (based on $100m marketing budget)

Yeah come on guys, they could make a whole $124,945 in Germany and get Melissa McCarthy a new hemorrhoid donut.

trolled

Do people outside of US care much about the original films in the first place?

didn't they change the name so the movie can be released in China?

I want summer to be over.

Threadly reminder:

- Production budget does not include marketing
- The studio gets about 1/2 of domestic box office, and about 1/3 of foreign
- Paul Feig himself said the movie needs a $500M box office to break even
- Sony cannot announce the cancellation of the planned sequel while the first movie is still in theaters, for obvious PR reasons
- So far all we know about toy sales is that they "exceeded expectations" according to Mattel, with no indications of what the expectations were (probably low, given the movie's poor box office projections before its release). It might even mean that Mattel sold a lot to retailers before the movie's release, not necessarily that the retailers are selling a lot to consumers.

rused yet again, i'm not even him i'm just pretending to be him

>cast two old women, a lesbian and an extremely black black-woman
>make them star in an Adam Sandler-esque low-brow cgi action flick version of a beloved classic
>allow woman to improvise "comedic" dialog because they have great "chemistry"
>insult and belittle fans of original movie
>wonder how it all went wrong

>trolled
who says this?
christ.

...

>Sony cannot announce the cancellation of the planned sequel while the first movie is still in theaters, for obvious PR reasons

Should add the example of Fantastic Flop, which released in August to a dismal box office, and Fox didn't announce the cancellation of the sequel until late November of that year

USA shit taste confirmed so much. You guys deserve to have that shitty movies.

It's only the US that cares about this insane left wing garbage
muh girl power
muh nig power
nope

It's really almost impressive how they made practically every single wrong decision that could have possibly been made. Bad cast, bad dialogue, bad story, bad trailer, bad public relations, bad director, inconsistent effects, identity politics... I can't think of anything they did right.

Sad thing is, you know there's some beta queers out there blowing their paychecks on tickets to try and boost it up.

Chances are if still made less than its production after two weeks than its a fucking bomb

Also the film needs to make at least 350 Million just to break even. In the end it'll cost Sony at least 100 Million bucks

Leslie Jones makes me think of Incredibly Black Obese Man

If that was true then Europe would be in a better state than it is.

>MFW Ghostbusters merchandise saves the move.
BTFO again CISLORDS!

F4 was better than the prior 2 though

They're a little generous with McCathey's proportions there. Maybe if they were true to life they wouldn't fit in the mold.

Funny how McCarthy's toy isn't obese. Guess Sony's toy department is full of shitlords.

I know when I was a child all I wanted was a toys based on middle aged women.

weak ass bait

...

I can imagine there might be some legal issues, they have due diligence to promote and try to make the movie succeed, if they just torpedoed it when its box office numbers didn't hit expectations I wonder if they might not being opening themselves up to legal action from their investors?

Europes problem is treasonous marxists that want to turn the place into a brown socialist shithole, destroying ethnicities/nation states/borders/etc

Leslie Jones is the oldest of the bunch afaik

Don't worry. I'm sure glorious feminist Nippon will save this film.

Notice how they made the figures more manly? Far right could straight up pass for a dude.

those are the four ugliest Japanese women I've ever seen

This Make them cute and I'm in.

Yup

McKinnon: 32
Wiig: 42
McCarthy: 45
Jones: 48

China hates women
Has this narrative begun?

How soon will these pop up in 99cent stores?

...

Guys... Leslie Jones was my favorite character in this movie, behind Chris Hemsworth... granted I didn't laugh at about 70% of what she said but she had some lines that got to me. What's wrong with me.......?

No ghosts allowed. Especially evil ones.

>Implying people outside the US even care about Ghostbusters
Only americans have a nostalgiaboner for Ghostbusters.

...

I didn't watch the movie, but I like her the most of the cast.

>144 million
>an be profiTable

>Make them cute and I'm in.
Is this more to your liking.

or this

hahaha le ebin it hasn't been released in China yet meme xDDD

You keep posting this bait and it always works.

Is it me or has the SJW press complete forgotten this movie?

Is it because once they realized they could not explain away the BO bomb, they gave up? Or maybe they got what they wanted out of the movie and moved on to other targets?

It is just strange how completely silent they are now given how vocal they were pre-release.

DAMn YOU GOOBERLYGRIMBLE!!!!!!?!1

>not a set of tits or hips on any of them

Such an inspiration to little girls....

user I...

They never actually cancelled Fant4stIIc. It's still on the books, albeit on 'hiatus' - its release slot was surrendered to another film on the slate. That's how much these studios are afraid of losing faith.

So the same problem as the U.S. then....

They're already there.

The silence is deafening...

please don't be racist

It hasn't been released worldwide yet, you simpleton.
It's a boxoffice success and they are already working on a sequel.

Plus the merchandise is selling extremely well.

They're desperately trying to downplay its box office failure. No doubt they'll be shilling for the movie again when it comes out on home video.

How much does it need to make to be considered profitable?

black don't crack

Quit being a hypocrite...

Please please please tell me that's a boy

500 million apparently.

Way too much for a comedy but they expected this to do capeshit numbers

What was hypocritical about that post?

>Box office
>Debuted at #2
>69% drop on the second weekend
>Barely making its budget back
>Banned in China, the largest consumers of Hollywood media outside the US.
Nah.
Feig says $500 million.

>Muslim countries will save the fat white woman and gorilla movie!!

You seem to be forgetting that Muslims are not as "tolerant" as white countries.

It got beaten yesterday by the one-day-only cinematic release of The Killing Joke, AND Lights Out, a cheap horror film. It's at #5 in the charts.

144M Prod. budget.

144M / 75% take = 192M domestic to cover that.

144M / 50% = 288M foreign to cover.

Basically any combo thereof.

That doesn't count promo budget and backend deals.

Basically it has no chance of recovering even it's prod. budget in the theaters.

I find it best to assume so just to be safe

what a silly post

>Lights Out
yeah but it's an investment in a Cinematic Universe

Sony must absolutely hate Feig for throwing out that $500 million number. There's no way Sony can hide this movie's failure due to Feig making that $500 million quote.

>Do people outside of US care much about the original films in the first place?

Yes, we donĀ“t care about female driven reboots
I mean, I love Peter, Ray, Egon and Winston. Why should I care if the story is not about them?

It is pretty clear much in the press never gave shit about the GB IP. They cared only as far as it being a tool for their identity politics or being a source of income for their shilling.

It also didn't hurt that they think a female GB is "taking something away from the boys", which really gets them excited.

youtube.com/watch?v=wnVH0s1c9yY

still talking about ghostbusters eh

I thought you were going to make a joke about pork being haram, but you fucked up.

Anybody calling anyone "racist" when the fact is that we ALL prefer our own groups.

>not the fat screaming NEET
reported

lmao studios don't take 75% of the domestic gross

Yeah because phoneposting from school will suddenly stop right?

I'm slightly proud by how hard it bombed here in the UK. At least we are not as far gone as you Yanks yet.

Brexit passed....Ghostbusters bombed.....there might still be hope for your yet, Nigel.

They never cared about the actual film. They just wanted another opportunity to get up on their soapboxes and tell everyone how virtuous they are and how evil everyone else is.

>women in a nutshell

I still see the Cazafantasmas logo in stickers and painted in walls
