People are free to practice any religion they want in the U.S. This is a core value. It is not progressionist agenda. It is the very reason why pilgrims migrated to this land in the first place. If you can't wrap around that, get out of our country.
The argument you're trying to have is one about individualism vs. collectivism. You're *trying* (but failing miserably) to explain that there muslims who are collectivists, and they want to change the predominant religion in whichever environment they live in, to match their own. Because they're collectivist, not individualist. And because they're collectivist, they do not respect religious freedom.
Now, if you argue along these lines, you will win. Because that's what it's actually about. Collectivism vs. Individualism. It's what it's always been about. It's the big question everyone on Earth gets to ask themselves, and find an answer to. It's actually the entire point of human civilization, if you want to get spiritual about it.
But, the U.S. is the home base, basically, for individualism on Earth. And if you can get the brown, white, or whatever color people you think are a threat to individualism, or religious freedom to admit that they do not respect religious freedom, then you win the argument. It doesn't matter if the person you are arguing with is on the political "left." It doesn't matter if the person you are arguing with is on the political "right." Because those political directions are mythical. The only thing that changes is their vocabulary. They are exactly the same.
There is really only one political issue on Earth, this evolutionary cycle, and it's the question of collectivism, or individualism. It's also a question that each person has to answer for themselves.
Because you see, that's the great compromise. You get to choose. But you *must* choose, and that's thrust upon you by societal expectations.
That's the reason we exist.
If you want to win your argument, argue along these lines
