First wave of godzilla reviews have come in from Japan

skreeonk.com/2016/07/26/the-first-japanese-reviews-for-shin-gojira-are-in-hailed-as-a-masterpiece/

Where were you when KaijuKino first appeared?

>Trusting the taste of japanese people

Rubber suit means failure outside of japan. Use cg next time, gooks.

If I trust American critics, I'd believe we're living on the Golden Age of cinema and the MCU is the pinnacle of western cinema

I don't expect this to come out in France outside of a select few theaters. I'd have liked seeing it on a big screen

They did use CGI you fucking idiot

I'm sure it'll be the same case in the UK for me.
I can't afford to go to London just to see one fucking movie.

He means not direct to video CGI.

this is probably you:
>hur dey use rubber costume so its bad

meanwhile its cgi

in the case you know it's cgi but still looks the same you would say:

>omfg why dont these japs do practicals if their cgi sucks

but in the end, its a combo of both so stfu

>Where were you when KaijuKino first appeared?
It appeared and ended in 54. It's never coming back.

...

wtf i want to drop another bomb on Hiroshima now.

>nips
>cgi
How do you want your effects famtoma?

My boss went to the premiere of this in Japan. He said it's pretty bad and a bland film. It's mostly about how Japan is conflicted about how to handle Godzilla; the US wants them to nuke him but they decide to freeze him using some sort of gel. Godzilla also can't really move his head or hands.

Why is he still so sad?

is it explained why he cant move?

Dawg, look at him, his shits all fucked up.

Sync ratio is too low

I hope this isn't true, that would be very lame

Its true, his dad works for nintendo and everything.

Yeah well my dad is Mothra and he said it's pretty good

You know the japanese absolutely love the MCU right?

Bruh that shit was sick

but their cgi and practicals are both fucking terrible. the movies have no chance.

because it hurts.

He's clearly in insurmountable unfathomable pain. Hes a giant burn victim except the burns are from Nuclear Radiation.

Honest question, is your boss native Japanese or what?

From the article that OP posted:
>from everything I’ve read, seen translated, and heard from westerners (insiders who also happen to be fans) who have seen the film, I’d say SHIN is very much a reflection of modern-day disasters for Japan, and how they deal with tragedy. That may seem obvious, but it should drive home the point that this film isn’t being made for us western fans, it’s being made for the modern Japanese public. So far, all signs point toward a film the Japanese will embrace, and western fans perhaps will scoff at as “boring” and “political”.

kek
so is the godzilla in this movie basically a big crispy burn victim that doesnt do much or fight anything?

regardless I will watch for cute

>basically a big crispy burn victim that doesnt do much or fight anything?
His tail is much bigger and he uses it a lot more. Also from what i'm reading theres some kind of twist with his tail.

So, is this getting any sort of US release?

yeah Funimation picked it up for a limited release in a few months

why is hack like Anno allowed to direct a movie?

>Funimation
Don't tell Sup Forums

It looks nothing like direct-to-video CGI, Get your eyes checked faggot
