Yeah its major ass. I literally lay in bed in the dark for hours. I just never sleep and I don't know why.

If I take Nyquil or anything similar I have a hard time getting up and I'm very punctual but not sleeping give a me a certain jitteriness and I get like hyperkinetic you know but also very paranoid and jumpy you know

I found getting into the right mental state helps a ton. I have it so when I smell lavender(fragrance oil) my brain just turns off in a way. It took a while but if you can have some sort of routine at night to let your brain know it's time to sleep, it really starts to work after a while. Crazy stuff

If you have a TV us it for your PC. Just use HDMI.

It's only 2 hours of work though, and then I can sleep. I'm a full time student though (mostly online) so I gotta catch up some time though. :(

As i'm trying to fall asleep. Been doing it since i was a kid.

had insomnia since i was a kid.

recently started to beat it though.

if i dont go to sleep at all one night, then go to bed the next night at a normal time (10-12) ill wake up a lot during the night, but eventually get up at 6 am. ill still be tired since i still got a sleep deficit, but then ill do the same thing the next night, go to bed early.

then i wake up at 8 am, feel well rested throughout the day, then something crazy happens. i get sleepy at the normal time.

if you have trouble falling asleep im assuming its because you dont ever feel sleepy. dont think you have a messed up circadian rhythm. it still works, but you are overriding it by using electronics at night.

do what i did, if it doesnt work, keep trying (took me 5 or 6 attempts over a couple years for it to work hardest part is not taking a nap during the day the next day). unfortunately you still need to go to sleep at that time every night. or you will easily fall back into bad habits, like i have.

this is coming from someone who got samples of ambien from my doctor, and didnt even make me sleepy.

I was barely on my phone tonight I laid in bed in total silence and darkness from like 9pm to whenever I made this thread so its not that and I either don't sleep at all like tonight or get 2-3 hours. Im always tired,but never sleepy

stay awake tonight then, dont try to sleep until 10-11. if you fall asleep at all before then you lose. you arent superman and will eventually want to pass out, gonna have to fight it until bedtime. if you fall asleep at the normal time and wake up in the middle of te night, go back to sleep, your body will be adjusted to your night-time awakeness and make you wake up a few times. also, dont use a clock in your room, its too bright and constantly checking the time will make you frustrated

im assuming on the weekends you get a lot of sleep since you dont have to wake up for anything? otherwise youd be pretty sick.

maybe buy some melatonin too, take one .25 mg one before bed, it sometimes makes me feel sleepy, not in a drugged way either since its a hormone.

I'm not sick but I don't really sleep on weekends either and I had melatonin but lost them. Staying,awake id,no problem

I passed out for a couple of hours earlier. Usually end up with nightmares every time I try to sleep.

i like to listen to music and and make up a fantasy world, sort of like daydreaming to sleep. works well for me. or i listen to an audiobook and turn it off when i get sleepy.You want to make a routine of what you do you fall asleep and do it every night. That will get your brain to accept its sleep time.
