lots of muse, lots of beirut, lots of the middle east, and a lot of yann tiersen (mostly pic related/stuff released around that time for him)

i also went through a weird phase where i listened to a lot of balkan brass stuff - fanfare ciocarlia and mahala rai banda were on constant repeat

and /then/ i had a huge internet crush on this finnish girl that i was always talking to, so i listened to just a lot of finnish stuff

mix that in with soft indie folky stuff like little tybee, the acorn, great lake swimmers, the decemberists and gogol bordello and there you have it

Slint
Death Grips
Swans
Big Black
Polvo
American Football
Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Neutral Milk Hotel

The Killers
Modest Mouse
Neon Trees
Kaiser Chiefs
Kasabian
The Script
The Fray
Kings of Leon

At 14 I was in a phase where I was starting to find my musical identity and was getting into:

Rise against
Thirty seconds to Mars
Gorillaz
American football
The strokes
Bright eyes
Fleet Foxes
Modest mouse

Most of these stuck around on my playlists but others evolved to a style that didn't click with me anymore (recent albums by the strokes, 30stm, Gorillaz).

Kanye West
Eminem
Chamillionaire
Ludacris
Jay-Z
Lupe Fiasco
Bone Thugs N Harmony
T.I.
Young Jeezy
Nas
Lil Wayne
Fat Joe
OutKast
Biggie
Beastie Boys

Linkin Park
Devo
LCD Soundsystem
Metallica
Daft Punk
Die Krupps
Rammstein
Pink Floyd
Justice
Dir En Grey (but only Gauze and Withering To Death)
Deadmau5
Ween (by proxy of my dad, who really liked them, and i always heard their music, in fact, i remember when i saw SpongeBob the Movie I had a TOTAL opposite experience from what most people had with that movie in regards to Ocean Man)

Now that i think of it, that's fairly wide and eclectic for a 14 year old.

I'm glad I didn't have great taste at 14. I'd be sick of anything I listened to then by now.

Also Gorillaz
