It was shite in all honesty.

Mess of film.

if you know Hollywood movies from the 1940s to 1960s, then yes, you'll get the references.

if you dont, then no.

Worst of the Coens

Yes, it's very good. A purposely slighter work from them, as they are wont to do, but really charming and funny. A love letter to Busby Berkely and HUAC era Hollywood.

The general concensus is that it's decent but one of the Coen brothers' weaker efforts. I enjoyed it.

Probably the worst Coens brothers movie ever

Still pretty good though

tap dancing scene is GOAT

I misread title as HALAL CAESAR LMAOOOOO

I could see what they were going for but I feel the execution was perhaps overlooked and the entire project wasn't given their full undivided attention. Solid 7/10 though.

I enjoyed it. Would have killed for a Barton Fink reference.

6/10. Watchable, but not memorable

don't kid yourselves, anything with Hill in it for even 5 seconds is trash

would be a lot better if channing, jonah and scarlett would be replaced

Felt all over the place, but it had its moments. Probably wouldn't watch it again.

>christopher lambert was the best part of the movie
>hes not even credited

taint rite

Jesus Christ Sup Forums

Jonah and Channing were fantastic.

Nothing topped the Frances McDormand scene tho

It's great.

Enlighten us with your wisdom.

I didn't watch any trailers for it before going to see it, was excited for a movie set in Rome. Was severely disappointed when I saw what it was, ended up leaving after 10-15 minutes

what's wrong with burn after reading?

Nah

I think it's meant to be a satirical comedy like Lebowski, but Malkovich and the supporting cast can't carry a movie like Bridges + Goodman can, and the weak script doesn't help it any

This was the only entertaining part of the movie and it still dragged on for way too long.

B-but I liked it
Clooney and Pitt play cretins very well

Remember you're asking this question on a pleb board that enjoys turds like GoT and Capeshit.

Movie was brilliant and a nice change of pace from the usual crap.

samefag

Fargo is vastly, vastly overrated
at least you properly rated Lebowski. People who can't spot it as a masterpiece infuriate me

average Sup Forums user can only comprehend super hero movies

shallow leftist propaganda

Very good.

The humor is subdued. I don't want to say it, but you need to be mature to understand and enjoy it.

>no blacks, only a respectable hispanic girl
>commies lose
>capitalism wins

I left the theater about 3/4ths the way through. It was so fucking boring and it went on, and on, and on...and there was no tension in the film whatsoever. Utter dogshit 0/10

On its own, I agree that Fargo is overrated. Buuuuut in the Coen Bros pantheon, it's a very iconic film that features all of their signature flourishes. It's a tighter, cleaner spiritual sequel to their earlier work i.e. Blood Simple and Miller's Crossing.

And it also spawned a quality TV show

WOULDTHATITWERE

this, what a shit movie

Fargo is a masterpiece you're just a pleb lmao
