I've never listened to a single thing from Yes in my life

I've never listened to a single thing from Yes in my life.

Tell me, Sup Forums, because I see both posted equally around here, which is their true masterpiece?

You haven'teven heard Owner of a Lonely Heart or Roundabout? No Way

The Yes Album

Close to the Edge, absolutely.

Never even heard OF them m8. Idk why, just haven't gotten around to Yes yet. Been trying to catch up on Jazz and The Fall lately.

big generator

DRAMA

Listen to it, seriously, Jon Anderson bailed on Yes in the 70s and Chris Squire made an amazing fucking album with Trevor Horn called DRAMA

Fragile is a bit more accessible I guess, but either of them would be a good place to start

>which is their true masterpiece?

close to the edge, listen to it now

Fragile is better

Close to the edge, down by the riiverrrrrrrr
Down at the end, round by the corrnerrrrrr
SEASOONSS WILL PASS YOU BYYYYY
Now that it's all over and done
Called to the seed, right to the sun Now that you find, now that you're WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLE
SEEEAAASONS WILL PASS YOU BYYY
I GET UUUUUUUUUUUUUP
I GET DOWWWWWNNNNN
I GET UUUUUUUUUUUP
I GET DOWWWWWWWWNNN
I GET UUUUUUUUUUUUP
I GET DOWWWWWWWWWWWWN

Listen to The Yes Album, Fragile, Close to the Edge, Going For the One, Relayer, & Tales From Topographic Oceans in that order.

Feel free to re-listen to an album before moving to next one of course.

...

My mom has this on vinyl and saw him on that tour. Is she patrician?

Hold On and Hearts are such great, over-looked Yes songs

Tales from Topographic Oceans is their true masterpiece, to be honest.

Great taste, my man. I just got it on CD yesterday actually, what an album. Machine Messiah, Into The Lens and Tempus Fugit are some of their best songs in general

Close to the Edge is good, but adjust yourself to Yes' style with Fragile first. Both albums are good, though.

OP here. I'm hearing about Fragile being considered more initially accessible. I'm listening to both, starting with that because of the accessibility and because it was released first, and will report back -- if this thread survives at least.

Leave It is honestly in my top 5 Yes songs

If you listen to Close to the Edge be sure to have some tissues at the ready because you will CUM

I listened to Fragile first, but that's because it's the LP I grew up on. I think it's a great starting point, though. Both albums are a tough call for which one is better.

After all they're both god tier.

Close to the Edge is vastly superior to Fragile.

That said you should listen to Fragile first, or at least Roundabout and Heart of the Sunrise. Long Distance Runaround is fun too.

The next best Yes album after CttE is The Yes Album, not Fragile.

Hell yeah. I would fuck her silly.

this guy has got it basically spot on

relayer is also better than fragile

For sure. Relayer is definitely worth a listen.

Their vocals are poo poo, but their instrumental work is tip top.

>which is their true masterpiece?

Close to the Edge. I'd also call it prog rock's masterpiece.

But as others have said, listen to Fragile first.
