>needing to remake one of the most terrifying films of all-time, at all
End yourself.
I'll bite. What's misunderstood about it?
Sean Bean is fucking terrifying, the gore is done well and pic related
No I'm sorry, I like Sean Bean, but this is a polished remake of a fantastic horror. There's no one-upping what Hauer did.
Critics are plebs.
The original is amazing
The remake doesn't come close but its not a bad horror movie
You probably haven't seen the original 1986 film.
Seriously. KILL yourself.
Except that has generally positive reviews.
I don't think it's bad, I just get really defensive because I think the original is already underrated. I love the atmosphere throughout.
Oops, I thought the scores were lower.
Paris Hilton getting speared makes it a 7/10 alone
do you mean speared
or "speared". in the mouth. because IIRC both happened
Jaume Collet-Serra is a modern b-flick master. orphan is his towering masterpiece but house of wax, non-stop and the shallows are all fun genre flicks. (Unknown is a letdown though.)

i love this movie
>The remake doesn't come close but its not a bad horror movie
It has the Platinum Dunes grimy Slipknot filter on it that always triggers me.
>let's take some of the most unique and diverse American horror films of the past 50 years and make them all look the exact same!
Fucking this, what a tryhard piece of shit it is.
Give it a rest, self-loather.
