ITT: God tier 3-album streaks

ITT: God tier 3-album streaks

i was going to say Yo La Tengo but realized ive never heard Electropura so nevermind.

That's not the Paranoid art
No that counts, Electr-O-Pura stands well with the albums that surround it. May I Sing With Me debatably is just as good as Painful - ICHTHBAO too so it could be called a 4 album streak

>uses alternative version of paranoid cover to make sure people know they're Le True Sabbath Fan
also, The Harvest Floor, Monolith of Inhumanity, and Anthropocene Extinction

Four albums from Stereolab:
Transient Random-Noise Bursts With Announcements

Neil Young's ditch trilogy (also Everybody Knows + Gold Rush + Harvest)
Leonard Cohen's first three
Bob Dylan's electric trilogy
David Bowie's Berlin albums
Big Star's discography
The Velvet Underground's first three
Evol + Sister + Daydream Nation
Pavement's first three
My Bloody Valentine's discography
Belle & Sebastian's first three
Buildings And Food + Fear of Music + Remain in Light
Let It Bleed + Sticky Fingers + Exile on Main St.
Pixies' first three
Replacements' Hootenanny + Let it Be + Tim
Being There + Summerteeth + Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
Nick Drake's discography
The Bends + OK Computer + Kid A
X's first three
Galaxie 500's discography
Electropura is pretty great, although in my opinion they've never made a bad studio album. Personally I think everything they've made from President YLT to I Am Not Afraid of You is pure gold, so that's a nine album winning streak in my books. I'm biased tho, they're probably my favorite band.

It's the international Paranoid artwork. You know, the good one.

lullabies to paralyze is probably their weakest desu. if you removed it as an album and had it released as some sort of "unreleased tracks + others" album their whole discography would look even better

War
The Unforgettable Fire
The Joshua Tree

the bends okc & kid a

kek Lullabies is one of my favs desu
solids songs in these, Little Sister is just so fucking good, Tangled up, Broken box, even the intro gives me the chills

Thread just said "god tier 3-album streaks", I translated that to "really really good three album streaks", not "three album streaks in which each album is a 10/10 life-changing magnum fucking opus". And have you considered the possibility that I really, really like the albums I mentioned?

Shit, man, are you really taking the term "god tier" this seriously?

exactly

well in his defense god-tier is probably the highest of tiers and somewhat 10/10

Jethro Tull - Aqualung/ Thick as a Brick/ A Passion Play
Led Zeppelin - IV/ Houses Of The Holy/ Physical Graffitti
Yes - Close To The Edge/ Tales From Topographic Oceans/ Relayer
King Crimson - Lark's Tongues In Aspic/ Starless And Bible Black/ Red
Genesis - Nursery Crime/ Foxtrot/ Selling England By The Pound
Gentle Giant - Octopus/ Three Friends/ In A Glass House
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced/ Axis: Bold As Love/ Electric Ladyland
The Kinks - Village Green Preservation Society/ Arthur Or The Decline And Fall Of The British Empire/ Lola vs Powerman And The Moneygoround
Miles Davis - In A Silent Way/ Bitches Brew/ Jack Johnson
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon/ Wish You Were Here/ Animals
Soft Machine - The Soft Machine/ Volume Two/ Third
Van Der Graaf Generator - Pawn Hearts/ Godbluff/ Still Life
The Who - Tommy/ Who's Next/ Quadrophenia
Emerson, Lake & Palmer - ELP/ Tarkus/ Trilogy

Yeah but it's not like the OP really specified. I love all of those Sabbath albums and think they make for a brilliant three album streak, but I wouldn't consider any one of them close to perfect. Granted, I'm not someone who believes that a perfect 10 exists, so if the criteria was "three consecutive albums, all of which are near-perfect", I'd be stumped.

Not once

but twice

Bowie had a god-tier 12-album streak desu
