Hip hop is less kill now than it was at both of its previous lowest points, being 1997, 2003, and 2008 (as a cultural whole, obviously good albums were released those years).
Besides why even care when all the best artists rap on street corners in the Bronx backed by an MPC 500, and there's decades of albums you can still listen to.
