Comcast Piracy Warning

How do I avoid this from happening again?

My dad says he will kick me out if this message pops up on his computer again but I really want to pirate The killing joke

So what's the worst that can actually happen? It doesn't state anywhere about a penalty or anything. Ignore it

those are just scare tactics, nothing will happen, swats wont come banging on your door.

Good try FBI

They literally have no legal precedence and use these notices pretty much as a scare tactic.

Still a good idea not to get too many of them though, otherwise you'll probably start getting investigated or something.

Also

VPN's nigger, what the fuck are they!

Literally ignore it. If they send someone or call tell them you're switching to another service provider.

>using torrents

I'm a britcuck and literally the only thing SOME of our IPs can do is to send out a letter explaining why piracy is bad and it also offers other options/advertises streaming services like Netflix. Unbelievable amounts of traffic from your phone or computer go to torrent sites or illegal steaming sites, IPs do not give a shit. They just carry out shitty scare tactics for the Jew every now and again

>downloaded over a TB a month

>seeding for over a year since getting into private trackers
feels good man

You can also avoid it by using a vpn or by using a proxied torrent site, better yet use both just depends how lazy you are.

When I lived in my old apartment I would get about one of these a week because my roommate was a public tracker plebian. It doesn't mean anything. They have no authority to do anything, and it's actually counter-productive for them to punish you by canceling your service because they still want your money and RIAA and MPAA have no way to sue them and get any money whatsoever. Just ignore it. Think of it as a game and see how many you can get in a month. The most I got was 6.

don't torrent recent releases, use things like irc or demonsaw for new shit. they generally only care when they're losing money from this business year and forget about everything else, they can't be everywhere so i try to just go to where they aren't.

>fucking them small

O I'm laffin'. So, you got caught fucking them? That's funny. I hope you learned your lesson! You won't fuck them small again, right? You're on their radar, now. They have leverage against you. "Oh, we need a favour and we noticed that you tried to fuck Comcast small. You wouldn't say no to the government, would you?" That's how it starts. You're in their pocket now, son.

If you're going to fuck anyone, don't fuck them small. Fuck them big. Fuck them so they can't fuck you back. Don't you KNOW this? Haven't you watched enough films and/or television shows displaying the consequences of fucking someone small?

Here endeth the lesson.

Oh, one last thing. If you DO decide that at some point you wish to "fuck big", you may wish to equip yourself with some nice defences first. Might I suggest a homemade VPN?

>live in UK
>been torrenting off public trackers since the good ol unsenet days
>never gotten any warnings at all

top kek USA

not even any point bothering with private trackers

You have two options.
>Tell your father it's literally nothing more than scare tactics and they can't and wont do anything about it ever
>Move out

Pretty simple faggot.

>Downloading porn

It's hilarious, the only letters I get are from that. Movies, tv shows, games, music, nothing but porn? Instant disconnection. Fuck Cox.

>downloading porn

top kek, do you burn it to dvd too gramps?

Ill share whatever the fuck i want to and download anything i ever bought with money proof or not.

except when you want 20MB/s+ speeds, quicker uploads and more to choose from

nothing will happen

if the emails are annoying enough you can just call them and threaten to switch ISPs

>my dad says he will kick me out

oh, never mind then

Keep torrenting because what the fuck are they going to do, stop taking your money?

Use your head, they're trying to scare you.

t. former Comcast employee

Fuck Comcast in the ass, and I'm not even an unfortunate American to be stuck with it.

if you're super paranoid you could set up i2p but the speeds will drive you crazy if you're as impatient as me

There's a six strike policy with centurylink so I think comcast has something similar. You'd have to download some pretty popular public torrents to get a strike though.

Don't seed torrents from public trackers. I've only gotten a notice once and that was when I downloaded a camrip of a movie that was still in theaters and accidentally left it seeding for a few hours.

They issue 6 warnings and then they cut off your service.

do it with your phone

YIFY is good enough for me

>cut off your service

nope, they've literally admitted that nothing happens after the sixth strike

most requests for strikes aren't even executed

it's just another scare tactic, in the end of the day ISPs want you to keep giving them money
