Mutt pitbulls. I expect to get a lot of shit for this but hear me out. I've had mutts and pure breeds. I know how violent i can be and I've seen what they can do first hand. But, as long as you 1) get them as
Puppies 2) get their nuts clipped early
3) have a female presence... they are phenomenal dogs. Loyal, protective, soft when they should be and mean if they need to be. Honestly as a person that was scared to death of them they are good dogs.

Had three. Two of them were loyal as fuck, but really beta. The other turned aggressive out of fucking nowhere, ripped a piece of the arm from our housekeeper's son. Not attributed to bad ownership, but the dog did used to get beaten on by an asshole neighbour we had. By the time we found out, he was already damaged... Some people are assholes.

Agreed, I hate that I had to give mine away when I moved to a new city for a new job. He was a fantastic, very smart and awesome dog that I miss terribly. I raised him from a pup and he just knew how to act and what to do. I had to go across his head sometimes but that was just to reassert dominance because he would run the show If I let him.
