Going to watch Rio Bravo later today and some other shit instead of playing vidya like yesterday.

letterboxd.com/lozjudai/

Rate. Hate. Follow

I don't get to watch much anymore. Wage slaving sure does suck.

Mean Johnny barrows was not very great. Still going to watch Death Journey

Profile?

letterboxd.com/regis/

What is the name of the first film in your Recent Activity?

flying colors

letterboxd.com/horrormaster34/

Yep, I'm retarded. Posting from a phone sucks dick.

Flying Colors. Makes you want to become a teacher.

Thanks

Haven't posted in a while, hoped y'all have missed me

I think I speak for all of us when I say no, none of us even noticed you were gone

letterboxd.com/barryloveslena/

Currently writing on 'The Purple Rose of Cairo'. It was pretty damn good.

I don't thinks so, honestly. I'm never sure what rating to give for a film, and I'm not good at reviewing.

>writing reviews
I tried it and gave up. Never know how to put my thoughts into words without either spoiling every little thing or sounding like a rambling retard.

letterboxd.com/herb_guy/

anyone has some 2016 must watch? I haven't seen one 5 star movie this year

why do they call you herb guy?

It's a skill senpai
It's the same shit they teach you in school. Have a thesis, write in logical order to support that thesis, don't sound like an idiot or be wrong

There haven't been 5 star movies this year, but I haven't seen Knight of Cups or Son of Saul so I wouldn't know

Hunt For The Wilderpeople is my 5/5 this year

having seen those 2, they aren't 5 star movies

DUDE

KoC is a pretentious "artistic" edgy garbage
son of saul is ok but Mustang was better

can it be torrented?

WEED

Not sure, just came out here in Australia

>Malick
>Pretentious artsy edgy garbage
Top fucking kek

They'll come soon enough. Lots of highly anticipated films drop later in the year for Oscar consideration.

>pretentious
That word is thrown around so often and so carelessly, that it's basically worthless.

what vidya did you play friend?

Top pretentious artsy edgy garbage directors:

1. Malick
2. Tarkovsky
3. Tarr
4. Lars von Trier
5. Refn

what are your three favorite new watches of this month, /lbg/?

>Tokyo Twilight
>Cemetery of Splendor
>Canyon Passage

go away tyro
nobody likes you

...

> Cemetery of Splendor
You know you don't need to pretend to like his movies right? They're boring as fuck, they have nothing to them other than some nice nature shots.

> muh thai mysticism

Only watched 5 movies so this is easy

>10 Cloverfield Lane
>Flying Colors
>Orange

no bait, hipsters only like it cause they make them feel smart and special

I could add kubrick, tarantino and wes anderson there but at least they are entertaining to some degree

Dumb ghettoposter

1. 'Taxi Driver'
2. '12 Angry Men'
3. 'The Phantom Carriage'

I like them! (:

Are you even trying?

What do they mean?

Rope - suspense porn and irrational raillery against a common (but total) misunderstanding of the anti-christian philosopher.

Vertigo - feminist tripe, the city's most eligible bachelor unbelievably falls for this one mysterious suicidal lass and stalks/controls her.

Yakuza 5

Also Guilty Gear XRD

RATE . HATE . RECOMMEND
Gibe some tips on how to start writing reviews.

>Inside Out
>.5 stars
You trying to troll me?

...

(You)

Rope worked better as a play. Hichcock added the very first scene which kills off a lot of the suspense. Even the playright was pissed when he saw it in the theater.

>Don't mention EVERYTHING (acting, cinematography, editing, writing, costumes, effects etc.), just what you feel is important
>Don't use the same adjectives over and over (good, great, meh)
>Don't use adjectives alone; expand on why you thought it was that way
>Read reviews. I recommend Alice Bishop to start with; her writing is very good (does all the above) and easily accessible

Thanks for posting. I will check The Last Picture Show out.

letterboxd.com/bvgf/

Inside Out is a below average flick, filled with platitudes and paper thin characters, overrated by Pixar manchildren fanboys.
Thnx m9. What's your Letterboxd account?

This seems to be Hitchcock's problem. He shouldn't have added the revealing scene in Vertigo either. I guess they didn't know it would work back in the day.

...

Pixar hasn't made anything good after Wall-E.

days of heaven is malick's only """good""" film.

>cuck
>flick
>manchildren fanboys
>m9

that feel when the memes have gained sentience and are people now

Death journey was bad too

going to spend probably the rest of the day watching pic related, it's a >2 hour doc on films with boobs in them and then 3.5 hours of films with boobs in.

Top fucking kek

Which film?

It's his best, doesn't mean it's his only good
He also has another 4 or so great ones

t.Reddit

tree of life is the only one that comes clsoe to being good, out of the three ive seen that is :^)

letterboxd.com/Smoothhands/

Which one didn't you like?

the thin red line, gona have to watch night of cups after the response its got

the new world is 4x times better
you watched hanak and pelechian before watching entry level shit like Reggio or Kieslowski
lmao kys

letterboxd.com/Mastro666/

Hello m8.

Not him, but new world was my first Malick and I didn't really like it, but Days of Heaven and ToL blew my mind

What's the one to the right of 21-87?

there is no "right" order to watch movies

kill yourself friendo
also, about 4/5 of your watched films are from porst 80's hollywood
lmaoooooo

letterboxd.com/samturret/
refn never dissapoints

What's the next step of your master plan?
I believe you said you were going to marathon The Fifth Element movie and video game back-to-back.

not me
Everything Turns, Everything Revolves

de palma > hitchcock t. bh

can someone send me links that explain malicks films? I'm not good with symbolism, TToL lost me at the dinosaur part

jackiegay pls

>can someone send me links that explain malicks films? I'm not good with symbolism, TToL lost me at the dinosaur part

both the game and the movie look like trash but i'll atleast give the movie a try

It's perfectly competent and enjoyable trash, the kind they don't make anymore.

It doesn't matter, but don't hate what you can't understand.

What did you think of them? How would you rank them?

The ending to the first one is so morbid and eerie, I love it.

its his worst film

hello tyro

letterboxd.com/LobsterNewberg/

nth for meme

letterboxd.com/tachikoma/

will letterbox ban me if i write a bad review for ghostbusters

you rated it 3 stars you retard

You're literally posting in a pretentious hipster thread.

letterboxd.com/SwimmingPool/

>tfw no gf

Even after the whole Ghostbusters shitshow, half of /lbg/ saw it anyway.
Do you all really have bland normie friends who reject your input?

Are you for real? There's no symbolism. Everything to be explained is done so in the opening frame of the movie with the excerpt from Job

letterboxd.com/ISniffRice
I really didn't get the big deal about Ip Man. It seemed like a pretty straightforward martial arts movie. Watching a guy you know is going to win every fight mow down moooks and then slap the shit out of a Japanese isn't really exciting.

Recommends for risque films?

His fight against the British Empire in 2 is more fun.

3/5 = UNWATCHABLE
