How do I make myself work hard when I feel cucked by working hard? If I work hard then I know someone somewhere had more success with less effort or through a smarter method. I feel like a sucker.
I feel like I need to go outside and savour my youth even though I had no friends or social life all through university (and now) and going to the library or cinema ultimately makes me feel conned, like there was a promise of human / societal connection that never happened. No wonder I spend so much time on Sup Forums.
I already know I'm asking a stupid question. I already know all advice is trivial and there is no method and so on. The most encouraging advice I can think of is also horrifying: that everything turns in to work when you care about it. I see groups of people at the gym (usually multiple guys and one girl) socialising by acting as unpaid clowns for the girl. This is horrific to watch, as if they've managed to turn relaxing in to a rat race. Of course I'm no better, my "work" is following a lifting routine. Even when I see people boasting about not working or being relaxed it's like seeing them take part in an insouciance pageant.
you don't NEED to work hard. there are many cultures where it's normal to relax and think about things after the basic needs have been met. What do you like to do? I like to learn practical things(workout,nutrition,sexual dynamics, research places to travel to) and intellectual things (read works of philosophy or scifi dystopias)
As for socialization, you're not alone. Most people's "friends" are simply family, work colleagues or club brahs to go get drunk with .You gotta put real effort into cultivating friendships. I reserve my evenings to call friends and invite them to a "walk and talk" day. Sometimes I take them camping, or cook together. Sometimes they flake, but I'll keep trying to gather people with the same interests as me.

But that doesn't mean we are superior. A native indian tribe might rank the #1 as "the one who can chill the most", and call us inferior. That'd be stupid too.
When facing an existential crisis, you need to, first of all, drop all your values. Only then you can start looking objectivelly at your weaknesses and strenghts to build a life worth living, with your OWN moral code.

do you have a job? do you want a shitty job that is basically leisure and much less shitter than all the other shitty entry level jobs that probably pays more? uber then. that was my only point. some places you can even get public housing if you don't make a certain amount and you can just omit that you work for uber on the side/weekends etc. it's either that, or be a creator of some sort if you don't want to be some asshole bosses slave until you retire.
