Was late 90s-early 00's the golden era of music?

Nah, late 80's early 90's were.

60's were the golden era

90's were complete trash musically

fpbp

1910 = music started

1920 - 1950 = classical music

1960 - 1970 = golden age of music for old singers

1980 = perfect age for rock rebels

1990 = improved good music and also the year for goths and punks

2000 = music is still good and gangsta songs started to appear

2001 - 2006 = music is changing

2007 = ghetto music but good and relaxing like akons dont matter

2008 = some crappy music is starting to appear

2009 = crappy music is spreading

2010 = you gotta be kidding me this isnt music justin bieber

2011 = R.I.P music goodbye...

2012 = oppa gangnam style :) music is revived for small period of time

2013 = R.I.P again :(

for pop music it was awful, for everything below that it was the golden era

For complete decades with music I'm legitimately familiar with
80's=60's>70's>40's>90's>00's>50's

>2000s gangster songs started to appear

more like the late 80's. by the 2000's gangster rap was in a major decline

lol this is wrong
akons dont matter came out in 2006, not 2007

No, it was the absolute low point of popular music: nu metal, post-grunge, pop rap, poppy industrial, eurotrash, ska punk. Just a period for all the worst genres in music all at once.

...

that song sucks

...

its better than ever

Goddammnit

is this from some youtube comment section ?

youtube comments is hands down the best forum for discussing music

lol I love this

1960s Beatles invent music
2011 Death Grips rediscover music
simple really

You completely neglected delta blues, and then the rise of electric in the late forties/early 50's. Also, I would consider 85-95 it's own era of golden music and influence.
