Fucking madman. You can't just give Bad Moon Rising to a first listener.

Listen to Daydream Nation

use your time for more interesting music, don't waste it on that shitty band

>Listen to Daydream Nation

This.

sister is a nice start
disregard everything they recorded after daydream nation except the syr series

Start with EVOL

Plebs not welcome

If their abstract shit is putting you off then either listen to Goo and Dirty or their last 2 albums, Rather Ripped and The Eternal. Once you get comfortable, move backwards from either record, into the 80s shit in reverse chronological order from the former and Murray Street and Sonic Nurse from the latter. Be careful with continuing the latter though, that can lead you into NYC Ghosts and Flowers and A Thousand Leaves, both of which are some of their most difficult albums.

OP here, thank you all for posting.

I wonder if whoever made this even listened to BMR.

It really isn't that noisy. Amp feedback is pretty much the main instrument but it's more used to create textural, proto-post-rock soundscapes than the kind of pure noise sections you'd find on say, Silver Rocket, for example.

What is it about the guitar riffs on dirty and goo that are so nice? Tunic has a lot of constant energy to it, for example

Everything feels kind or rock and roll, or is it bluesy? Or am I totally wrong?

Alternate tunings desu

first is true
second is not true

damn, that chart is not very well done.

this...is there really any other way?

late sonic youth is best sonic youth.

I've found a girl who listens to Sonic Youth, is she patrician mu?

Listen to U2 instead

Could be.

Honestly I started with Sonic Youth in order and BMR seems like a decent starting point to me
