nice meme

don't most hues speak Spanish as a second language, given that they live in the middle of fucking South America? Or are there a lot of monoglot lusophones?

No one speaks spanish here, most people don't even interact with the neighboring countries and usually a bastard mix of portuguese and spanish is enough to get the point across.

We unironically know more english than spanish.

Yes, we understand each other. I would ask in spanish and they answer in portuguese.

You will find more people who speak English than Spanish here, Brazil borders 10 countries but in reality is a cultural island, just like your country in a way. Also some people just don't like spanish, or don't think it's that important to know considering it's very similar to Portuguese There are some who know it, but they aren't the majority
>Or are there a lot of monoglot lusophones?
yeah, specially the older and poorer ones.

not true

>American speaks to Brazilian in Spanish
>they don't answer
Honestly could see that happening and would probably do that myself
