Looking for a conceal carry handgun. Currently decided on the Ruger LCR .357 thoughts? Think anything else is better? Any opinions helpful

Go ask /k/ they know more about that topic

Uh don't cc a 357? Fucking newfag

Also as a note to my previous post, don't get a revolver as a first cc. The pull is usually way heavier than you'd want in any emergency as a new carrier and also only 6 shots max.benefits are concealability and reliability, but I'd take a striker any day over revolver for CC

Reason I say don't go revolver or heavy pull for CC is that your adrenaline is already going to be high in a situation that causes you to draw so the likelihood of getting shots on target with 8 or 9 lb pulls is next to zero

Solid choice if you want a revolver.

Thats not accurate.

22 mag

Go ask they live for this

Uh, I've been in high stress situations and while not involving drawing I know I would have trouble putting shots on target with a revolver and I've been going to the range since I was like 8.

Not much point in .357 out of a snub unless you like excessive report and flash. Just as well run .38's out of it.

my personal carry weapon is a g19 and id recommend it to anyone for a first time cc weapon

Before getting a revolver be sure to check your local laws. My state doesn't allow carry with one in the camber, meaning you would need an empty cylinder in line with the barrel. This then makes revolvers pretty irrelevant for me.

If you're going for a revolver, I'd recommend a Ruger GP100, 6 inch barrel preferably.

That's what I carry.

Maybe you are just s horrible shot.

Not really. Maybe you just have no clue what adrenaline does to people. Fucking shit head

An excellent choice, once your assailant sees you pull this out, he will literally fall over laughing and then you might have a chance to shoot him.

What state is that?

Give an inexperienced shooter a revolver to carry and a 357 no less and good fucking luck.

Longer barrel and .357 is nice. Otherwise .40 s&w, or even 10mm for a real all around type of round.

.357 Magnum is very bad out of short barrels. That's just what the cartridge is. Out of longer barrels it's very good, but the short barrel saps almost all of its strength.

Although not as common .327 Magnum is a better choice for a purely cc revolver. You also get an extra round, so 6 in a compact frame, because the round is physically skinnier.

You must be someone's wife.

I'm not that guy but take any carry class and they'll all tell you the same thing regarding the adrenaline. Even trained police officers miss a large percentage of their shots.

Sig P938 9mm

I would go for a Glock 19 or a Walther ppk

Yeah, if you wanna spend what, $700-$800?

...

You can go with the Ruger LCP .380. I carry a .45

...

One advantage to a concealed hammer revolver is that you can fire it through your coat pocket without having to pull it out. It will probably set your pocket on fire but it is faster than drawing. Plus you can walk around in public pointing it at people and they won't know it.

Go look at an M&P shield 9mm. It's easy to conceal but a great shooting gun. If you have normal sized or large hands you'll want the extended magazines.

You just stick to your 22 and let the men keep talking.

you also should check your state laws also if you get licensed for a revolver you cant carry a semi auto if you decide to get one in the future

Unless you're getting harassed by grizzly bears, this is overkill.

Where in the fuck do you live?!

kek

It's a .22 LR I'll have you know.

Either the union of Soviet socialist Chicago/California, or not the US

IMHO? .357 is overkill, especially for an elevator gun. Visit /k/. They love to chat about revolvers.

I'm actually a dead eye when my adrenaline is pumping. I'm like max Payne.

Its not Chicago. I'm in Chicago. No registration, shall issue, permit isn't weapon specific, absolute preemption of local handgun regulations. I mean, the permit is expensive to get, but from there its smooth sailing.

WAT

oh cool, I like lying too.

You ever shot a 22 revolver? Its pretty fun and for a self defense weapon it would be ok I think, just pop a couple in the perp and the bullets won't even go through him all the way most likely

> High stress situations since I was like 8
> Like 8
> 8
Draw yourself for the muder cube faggot.

What do you like to lie about, besides being heterosexual?

Shut up Mr smith

Oklahoma

Masshole detected.

>22 revolver
>self defense weapon
squirrels beating up on you?

Lol learn how to fucking read shit for brains. I stated high stress situations and going to the range since I was 8 as SEPARATE events. Fucking retard holy shit.

when someines ridicules your caliber, remember: overkill=increased versatility. 9mm may statistically stop them, but so does a .40

Smith and Wesson M&P Shield in 9.

Kekked out loud

I have the Ruger LCR .38 5 shot. It's a great pocket pistol.

>when people ask how I'm doing I say good.

Oklahoma appears to have an unencumbered shall issue permit system, does not have registration, and does not require a permit for open carry. Care to cite the law or precedent?

You want 15 inches of penetration.

Youre an idiot

The absolute horror of knowing that people on Sup Forums actually own firearms...

First time carry a Sig P250. Affordable and reliable, plus you can get it chambered in 9mm .40s&w or .45acp. I got a .40 and just recently traded up to a Sig 1911 but the P250 is still a great range gun

How much experience do you have with handguns? A revolver is not a good idea for a cc and neither is .357. I'd only go for it if you have if you have a lot of experience with revolvers and higher caliber handguns

I think the argument for revolver is that it's practically guaranteed to work, even though capacity is shit.

Sig P250 is around the same price and you can feel the better build quality even as a cc noob as soon as you pick it up

Scared libcuck detected.

You're a faggot

Fair enough, but they're bulkier and less user friendly. Glocks are a pretty much guarantee to work too, and they're easier to handle as well as conceal

I'm actually fairly right-wing. True 2A supporter. Just funny thinking how much the general public would shit knowing bunch of Sup Forumsros are carrying.. considering the crazed shit that is posted hahaha.

Agree but a .40 in the hands of a less experienced shooter will not be as effective

Currently have a P320. Only other sig I'll ever buy probably is the 226.

you've got a point there, but the way you worded that first comment made you reek of snowflake

Just gotta practice with your gun. Should either way so I always advocate going for the more capable round.

haha my bad I'm newfag.. I have learning to do!

Newfag.

Also agree completely but OP gives off a vibe like he's never actually held a gun in his hands before let alone learnt a particular firearm properly. Even if he's going to practice a lot I'd recommend just a 9mm for someones first handgun

Never had any issue with my striker fired Cc and I'm 2000+ rounds deep in it. There was no break in period or anything.

It's about doing your homework. And revolvers aren't impervious to malfunctions.

Not another fucking cuck thread.

I may be tainted, having learned on a .357 with a six inch barrel at the age of 10. I always go a little high, carry a 10mm at the moment seeing as its the largest caliber I can conceal comfortably aside from a .45. Fell in love with the cartridge first time I fired it.

Kek. Nigger.

Sorry about that, you sound alright. But yes you're right, they would. Don't tell them plz.

>And revolvers aren't impervious to malfunctions.
>malfunctions
>Retard puts hot load into cylinder and user calls it a malfunction
Do you call it a manufacturing defect when you drive your hoveround into traffic, fag?

Yes. Let's just keep this among ourselves, m'kay?

More people have been killed by .22 rimfires than any other cartridge.

Jesus, that isn't even a k-frame. Go big or go home.

Done and shit! Fuck snowflakes.

M&P shield in 9, Glock 43, Sig 290.. there are a lot but don;t get a revolver for ccw

I'd recommend the Smith and Wesson .500

I have a .357 for cc and I really regret it. From my experience, .357 out of a 2 inch barrel is hard to control as far as recoil goes, is just loud as fuck so you wont want to hit the range as much, and the short barrel of a cc handgun robs the .357 of a lot of it's velocity.
That being said, if you're dead set on it, go for it. A lot of people shit on the small capacity. I think in most cases your average person gets into, six shots in enough to get your point across. Seconds, just run .38 special through it. It's damn cheaper, not such a bitch on the wrist, and wont make you go deaf without hearing protection.

Madfag mad. Fag.

Seconded
Or a .454 casull

I'm liberal as fuck and I also carry guns. This "liberals hate guns" meme needs to die.

No pics on my PC but I CC a Taurus Millennium G2 PT111 9mm, there's a bit of weight to it but it's small enough I can conceal it while being big enough to be comfortable in my bear paws I call hands. And it's heavy enough that I can empty the mag and still throw it at the guy if I need to.

morons

Fake and gay.

What is she up to these days? I remember around this time last year I first discovered her. So fucking nostalgic about last year.. I was going to marry her. What is she up to these days?

how to get shot by a cop: concealed carry edition

OMFG the autism... I meant to post this on Evalion thread... Soz Sup Forumsros...

>how to get shot by a cop

be black

Newfag
Also, I hear 45-70 is great for ccw.

Tell that to your dike messiah Hillary and her hordes of sjw bullet stops.
