So shows have to respond to that kind of demand by releasing the entire 'season' all at once, basically. Right now it's obviously still just digitally distributed stuff, like Netflix and Amazon releases, but once televisions can adjust playback speeds like your phone and computer, everything will come out like this.

Modern ads are worked into the show itself, like all the cars in this show being made by same companty and always showing their branding in the shot for at least 2 seconds, or having an old coke can and coke commercial play, and be a part of the story itself. It was kind of interesting here, since it was specifically 30 year old versions of the products, but it still worked well, I think. It's even an extra layer of reference, since they can make their product placement a callback to Reces Pieces being in ET.
