I currently use mainly C++ and Python at work.
For fun (I'll still program for fun even after I'm free from office-work) I use C++ if I care about performance and Ruby if I don't.
For web ui's I just use HTML, CSS (SCSS), and Javascript (Usually JQuery).
But at work I'll use whatever, I don't really give a shit.
I actually do that to, i'm a hyperbaric welder for the navy
Check em
My condo has appreciated by more than my annual salary in the last year. I'm looking into buying a mixed-use property where I can live on top and rent out the bottom to commercial tenants. I have no desire to be extraordinarily wealthy, only to be free from office-work.
where do you work/what do you work/pay?
do you live in the condo? because if not youre gonna have to pay capital gains taxes on that shit.
also, how has it appreciated by more than your annual salary? whats your salary and how do you know it's actually appreciated that much in just one year?
I'm a Behavioral Rehabilitation Specialist. I basically help retarded people but I've been on Sup Forums for years so I've got training dealing with the mentally inept.

That Lada has Finnish plates, the text above the plate tells the car has been bought from Konela-auto Oy, and the sticker in rear window says "Lujaa Lada laatua". And yes, I am a semi-autistic Finn, thank you for asking.

All the hips and valleys and ridges double 18". Fucking architects are not engineers so this happens. That's a 24" one, no lolly columns in the garage.

Pest control technician
I work for a pretty big software company, most of Sup Forums uses their products regularly. My salary is $110k and my total comp is $160k. I am looking for a new job though since I should be getting paid more based on my background, I'm about to interview at at a place that would give me a $200k salary.
I live in the condo. My area has had a lot of real estate growth and I bought it for under the market value because it had some trivial but very visible damage that I've repaired. Lots of condos that would've sold for around $500k-$600k two years ago are going for around $700k-$800k now. I got mine for around $480k and could sell it in the $650k-$700k range.
Of course it's always possible for the market to collapse, but that's why I want to move to a mixed use place that generates income immediately, rent (commercial or residential) never goes down in my city.
Title is in his name. He owns and lives there. No dispute. There are many loop holes in real estate
I still dont understand how you think youre going to get someone to pay more than you make in a year above what you paid for the condo originally.
Started out as a solely graphic designer in some advertising agency years ago, going through phases of desktop publishing and overlooking printing and production processes and now I'm project managing and filling up some spreadsheets. Honestly I have no fucking clue what I am now. I'm daydreaming about having my own fashion house or fully dive into IT as I did some programming in my spare time.
Currently unemployed trying to finish my ged.
Hygienic Technician of Custodial Arts.
I'm a researcher at the university. Doing research, writing academic papers, coordinating research projects, managing junior researchers and a technician and teaching. Basically doing my hobby and being paid for it.
After hours I run a small bespoke electronics company.
Depends on where he lives and the market in the area. My little Bros piece of shit house appreciated over 150k. He lived there 7 years
nope, I have a vacation home that I'm going to have to pay capital gains taxes on even though the title is in my name. you have a second home, you pay capital gains taxes on that if you make a profit from selling it. you cant have multiple legal residences.
Go back to school then
i am a jew
Finished college, but clinical depression made it hard for me to find a job in that field. ( competitive and full of motivated try-hards... impossible to have a chance with depression)
So, since I had a factory near my place, I applied there cause it was really close. Got the job and it was like true hell.
People there didn't even finish high school, and some of them couldn't even speak english or french... in fucking Canada!
The worst is that when you come from an educated family and end up there, with these retards, you simply go crazy. To be honest with you, when I started working there, my depression got to a point of no return.
So now, I've quit that job and am basically living off my high school job savings. There is no way I'm going back to do manual labor jobs for 10 bucks/hour surrounded by losers... And since I've lost so many years of experience for my field job, I can forget that too.
So what's next?
Well, I'm gonna commit suicide in a month or two, so there's no stress for me.
Peace.
P.S: Clinical depression is a real bitch. I don't even wish it to the mexican cartel members torturing people. That's how bad it is.
Do you understand appreciation? Since the house bubble crash lots of people lost their homes. Rentals, Apts, condos, town homes are money makers right now. Maybe it was a fixer upper. This shit happens all the time in the housing market.

yes I understand appreciation. I also understand if someone paid 400 for the house last year, did nothing to it and are trying to sell it for 550 because "the market value went up" I wouldnt buy it because fuck those people.

If you wanted a top floor condo in this neighborhood you wouldn't really have much of a choice. I may end up holding onto it for another year though.
