I'm a drone and have never listened to these bands before except Radiohead.

By factoring together the number of bolded albums each band has and the average of these album's ratings, and deducting for lowest scoring releases, he's what RYM has to say:

Radiohead > R.E.M. > Arcade Fire > Blur > Muse > The Killers > Oasis > Coldplay > U2

Tier 1:
Radiohead
Arcade fire
Tier 2:
Muse
Blur
Tier: 3
U2

Tier 4:

da fuq?

Oasis is one of the finest pop bands of the last 25 years though.

youtube.com/watch?v=E4oR7bv9kF0

At the time of this specific performance of this song, they were absolutely, objectively the greatest band on the planet.

RYM always underrated their 80s work and hates pretty much anything after Achtung Baby, in particular their 2000s records. The most recent album has a 0.5 score.

Sam's Town is a better album than a few of those artists' discographies but as a whole The Killers discography is pretty bad.

>muh Slide Away

Why is this always the first Oasis song their fanboys use to defend the band?
One decent shoegaze song doesn't make up for all the atrocious pub-rock shite that they recorded.

I'll go ahead and say that even though I'm not a fan of the band, this is probably true for the latter half of 1995+pretty much all of 1996.

Based their best albums, subjectively:
Radiohead(OKC)
Oasis(Defintely Maybe)
Blur(Parklife)
U2(Achtung Baby)
Arcade Fire(Funeral)
Coldplay(A Rush Of Blood To The Head)
R.E.M(Murmur)
Muse(Black Holes)
The Killers(Hot Fuss - at the bottom but when it came out I though it is a legit 9/10)

Weirdly good thread

>liking Radiohead but not Muse
Matt Belemey's voice is Thom's at times though. Origin of Symmetry is like Electioneering 12 times basically.

The band that knocked Oasis off their perch in 1996:

some just can't accept that the first half of muse's albums are legit good

It is very different instrumentally tough

Muse, Blur, and Coldplay

Viva la Vida is Coldplay's best but it's not as good as Sam's Town in my opinion. Some people might argue Parachutes is better but I never really liked it that much.

I can't tell if it's a relief or an insult to hear Uprising when I enter a major department store. I want to say I would have liked them more if I listened to them when I was younger but I also remember them feeling too slow, but now I feel too old even though all-in-all they're not bad. Weird paradox

they're too obvious when they're trying to be another artist (U2, Queen, Radiohead) to the point where I can point out which songs/albums they were trying to emulate. and they are usually worse versions of these artists. but they have a few tracks I like as well.

I don't think that argument can be made for OOS Absolution and Black holes, but on their last 3 albums you can hear clear attempts to sound like u2, queen and more

Oh, I don't think anyone would defend those albums. You could say some of their tracks even sound like Tool, but it's easier to just say it's Muse. It always seems funny to me the attempts to say, "they're not at all like Radiohead" and then "oh, they totally copy Radiohead"

If you switch muse and coldplay we can be friends.

This

I hate all of them except for Oasis

Move Radiohead up to good, and this is literally me.

It's the melodrama of the singing that kills it for me on Muse. Instrumentally they're pretty damn cool.

most accurate one yet

shit taste

Kys Radiohead is pretentious, boring shit.

Preach

you just described Oasis

This is the best argument against Radiohead. Look at this fucking faggot.
