What is the difference between Prussians and Germans...

What is the difference between Prussians and Germans? Weren't they the ones who kind of pushed Germany to the top of the food chain? Why has the "Prussian" ethnicity ceased to exist?

>pr*ssianshits
germanized wends

Prussians were ancient time travellers with enough knowledge to name their region so its eventual integration with Russia wouldn't result in costly changes to documentation, maps and signs

The first cucks ?

I'm pretty sure Prussia was just one of the many kingdoms of the Germanic peoples prior to unification. I think it still represents a large region.

I know but it seems like both WW1 and 2 completely destroyed the "Prussian" Germany.

Theyre just northern Germans.
They basically made Germany unify and the Prussian monarchs became the dynasty of German Emperors.
The ethnicity still lives, I know people that have a Prussian family.

They used to be a Baltic tribe and then an ethnicity who were killed off by invading Germans who took the name, and eventually all of Germany

It was the US who intentionally destroyed Prussian identity because they didn't know the difference between Nazis and Prussians.

Both of them wanted to destroy Europe every 5 minutes so it was probably for the best

>pushed Germany to the top of the food chain
You mean, they pushed Germans to the meat grinder.

WWI never should've happened

Aristocrat fucking shits

Why does she look smug?

How grand would it be to have a balance of power with the old European empires still existing.

Prussians are successful Germans

probably because they're not really Germans

WW2 didn't happen yet.

This. Prussia doesn't even exist anymore kek

Revolution destroyed france

>It is not well known that barely a century ago, Prussia, with its then predominantly Slav population, was not considered a German state at all; though its kings, who as princes of Brandenburg were ‘Electors’ of the German Empire, were considered German princes. At the Congress of Vienna, Prussia was registered as a ‘Slav kingdom’; and in 1830 Hegel still spoke52 even of Brandenburg and Mecklenburg as being populated by ‘Germanized Slavs’.

Just imagine a WW1 with a tie without any reparations, where everyone saw the new destructive power of war.
Africa and the middle east would not be shitholes today because very likly the borders would have been drawn differently.
There would have been no brain drain from Europe during the now non existant secound world war.
We could have had a golden age.

The empires were destined to explode, particularly for Austria-Hungary, and Poland. Shit was already going down because of the local nationalism, it would have turned to civil wars sooner or later. Also Germany was seen as a threat since its unification, so hostility was natural.
But yeah if we could have avoided this whole shitshow it would have been much better

>How grand would it be to have a balance of power with the old European empires still existing.

US would be a domestic trade poopoo hole who would be dependant on Europe or alternatively asia depending the political situation there.

As in pretty grand.

Would the inherent resources and industrial capacity of the US have sooner or later changed the influence between Europe and America ?
Their demography and economy was already big

Would it have not *

>its an "American education" episode

You literally made an effort to remove everything even remotely Prussian from German life after WW2 because >muh militarism

As a result we are a country where traditions are frowned upon and that hates its own army

Also now that I think about it I can kinda relate to how those Middle Eastern shitholes feel about you invading them

Well in the scenario which he described grand, The old european powers would still dominate european trade and this would mean most of the shit would stay in Europe as smaller nations trade with big empires and so on. US would be most likely highly restricted in it's european trade since it could destabilize the balance and economy of europe because of it's size. So most likely Europe would have somewhat closed doors policy on US.

TLDR: They'd be powerful but lack the hegemony they currently have and in no way would be an World police as they are now.

prussian ethnicity is not german
prussia is the successor of the duchy of branderburg, northestern part of germany which expanded to the east into the areas which were under teutonic rule, the prussians were slavs who got germanized
its an identity, kinda like you are
similarities doesnt stop there, prussia was unironically a kingdom of protestant immigrants, jews and hugenottes under hohenzollern rule

...

I'd like to think of WW1 as the end of imperial Europe, while WW2 as the end of traditional Europe.

Not only Germany suffers from national shame others do to. While in a lesser degree it's similar.

Hitler single handedly killed off European pride. Nationalism or patriotism is frowned upon because of muh Nazi fear. While that was a big blow the loss of colonies added to national shame, these loses thanks to US sanctioning reduced nations into baby states.

If there's one thing I'd like to do then it's not kill Hitler, but instead try to convince him that he should bide his time, continue gaining German land through diplomacy, ease on the race laws and wait for the USSR to deal the first blow.

But that's just looking at the past, The west is declining, we won't go down with a big bang but just fade away in the shadow of others and slowly become a tourist attraction where future visitors will say "Here once walked a proud and strong people".

There isn't anything what we can really do.

>wait for the USSR to deal the first blow.
That would've been a mistake.
USSR was armed to the teeth in the offensive weapons, they had thousands of paratroopers, tanks that could drive on the highways in fast speed, water tanks, everything.
Stalin was preparing for the global revolution, they would steamroll Germany if they attacked first.

That's why Barbarossa was so successful, Soviets weren't preparing any defense, they were building up everything for offense.

Seems reasonable, but it seems we're already seeing the end of American dominance anyway. This century will probably not be under their hegemony

Stalin was conslidating his power in USSR and did not envision any invasion of Europe, at least in the immediate time. He was completely taken aback when Barbarossa happened, which in the end offered him half of Europe

>Theyre just northern Germans.
Maybe from a Bavarian perspective but Prussians were actually more East Germans than North Germans.

>Stalin was conslidating his power in USSR and did not envision any invasion of Europe, at least in the immediate time.
Not really. Soviet Union was in mobilisation period since he was in power.

>He was completely taken aback when Barbarossa happened,
That's because they were preparing to fight on someone elses territory, not on their own. Everything was offensive, not defensive.

Life is not a video game. There is a huge difference between offence and defence.

There is also a huge difference between shit you write and stuff that really happened.

I guess you know better than Sovietologs, since everything I wrote is from their work.

Don't speak if you have nothing to contribute.

>he fell for the Sup Forums memes

>Soviet Union was in mobilisation period since he was in power.
What? Stalin had become famous for never engaging in policies which might endanger him and Russia's positions, and he was only eased into bringing down hostilities on Finland, Bessaberia, and then Poland when the Germans urged him there, by promising them their support against the West.

>That's because they were preparing to fight on someone elses territory,
Nope, Stalin was genuinely horrified that he'd been betrayed by Hitler, as he'd believed that their alliance would've lasted much longer. Contemporaries from his time state that he'd suffering something akin to an emotional breakdown, and for more than several days, had refused to believe in news from the front, thinking it to be disinformation to trick him into a war with Germany.

Dude, Soviets weren't angels, but this idea that they were going to invade Europe is silly though.
