I just finished air force basic. Ask me things, also military thread

nice.

Afsc

Were you in the old dorms or were you a disney land faggot? Also AFSC?

What's your job?

did you already get issued your chair? or do they give it to you when you get to your unit?

pararescue. it's pretty easy.

old dorms of course

Do they still make you carry Lackland Lazers?

We hear a lot of rumors about AF bootcamp, cards that stop rdc's from yelling at you, cell phone use, days off, and physical slackness. Any truth to these?

chair is issued and surgically attached in boot.

How does it feel to know you will never touch a rifle again? andy why not actually join the military ? also when will you tell your parent s you are gay?

You going thru tech training @ medina?

Have fun getting fucking reclassed OP. Knew tougher guys than you that couldn't get through the pipeline. Better prep for being a cop or services.

You arent me
All bullshit except for physical slackness. Although we still did pt 6 times a week

No im at keesler

you have no idea how tough I am pussy.
those"guys"you know are straight up faggots.

Go ruin someone elses thread faggot

Max age to join? How often do they drug test for pot?

3d1x1 client systems

Good to know; navy fag here boot sounds about the same

Any other mil bros want to rate their boot I'm interested in hearing it, especially coasties, I hear you lucky fucks dodged most of the PC wave

is this one of the guys you knew who tried to be a pj?

Just some old college whore I knew

Hows life in the navy?

>calls someone faggot.
>is in air force.

Do you realize that you where actually killed then cloned an now your former self is in the Air Force!

Congrats on going to cub scout camp.

Maybe next time you'll join a real service.

Whats wrong with the air force?

Oh, nothing. It's cool... if you don't mean being in the Sears of the military.

>offbyone.png
It's alright, after 2+ years of training commands I'm on my first boat. Everybody complains and the hours suck (12+ hours per day, even at schools, and deployments) but you're part of a family you have to work to get into

Do Navy officers get time off or how much are they busy?

>sells life to to gummymint
kys

From your experience how likely do you think they would be to put you into cool shit if you score a perfect on your AQFT?

he isnt in the navy bro

Marine here,

Lol.

how does it feel to be a pawn for the jews

crayons and gunpowder on /k/

>implying you don't get excited when air support shows up

What training squadron where you

Depends on the command I guess, I can only speak for submarines but they don't get any more time off than enlisted. As far as workload it seems easier but I'm biased enlisted so maybe not

Implying Marines get Air Support from USAF and not SAS

Do you guys get wifi access on the ships or able to play video games?

Also any chances to get pussy?

Hey Air Force here... also I know I'm better then you because I've seen Marines drop in my tech a school

Most action you ever see is on the Copy Machine

Fag

Nah dude, EOD I fuck shit up its great. I'm happy it's finally over though

Lol

How bad was it? Im thinking of joining up but I don't really want the "full metal jacket" experience.

hi coast guard here. fuck this shit

Carriers get internet, not good enough for games, email and skype usually work though. Once you get qualified senior in rate (1.5 years) you suddenly get a lot more freetime and people play xbox and shit in their rack

The Scandinavian Airline Service is a commercial entity.

Enjoy hotbunking and cum stains on the sheets

>going into air force
>not getting all the technical skills possible

Nigga you is dumb as shit

Fuck the military

Why didn't your faggot supervisors answer me last night,

are you all really that slow?

It is the easiest and shortest basic. You want the benefits go join the air force.

Pararescue is pretty sweet actually. Good for you user

>implying FML is like real life
Dont even bother joining if youre obviously retarded

So, is "Flare to land, squat to pee" really true?

sure, buddy, sure.

forgot the second part, no chance for pussy on subs, but surface fleet gets a little crazy. There's been two prostitute rings that I've heard of and a lot of the other girls get around

how does it feel putting your life on the line for a country who cares so little about you

What's it like being a puddle jumper?

"hotracking" yeah that shit sucks

Prove you're pararescue and not just some finance faggot

So far so good

That wasnt me posting that was some other faggot

Since when does any country give a shit about its soldiers lol

I've only ever experienced neck beard loners who don't love troops, ever hard working family man I've ever met respects troops even if they don't support the war

If you think you're going to be doing your job 5-7 years from now the way you perceive it to be. Than you're in for some shit.

Part of the reasons I got out as a battle management operations specialist was due to senior leadership telling me no B.S. that I will no longer be managing aircrafts and missions but managing people. It will be the same for all career fields, except JSOC ones because they don't have time for that shit.

You will be expected to take on 'orderly' roles in terms of filing out subordinates paperwork. Writing subordinates performance reports and punitive actions. Essentially becoming a person that goes from being hands on or directly involved. To managing personell from behind closed door meetings and spend days, hours, and weeks in 'bullet writing seminars' where you come up with a million different ways to spell out. "Airman recieved 6 Hours of Sexual Assault Prevention Resistance training; became unit SARC monitor -- Enhanced Air Forces Rape victim awareness percentiles."

And you will be expected to be a 'leader in the community and promote involvement through coordinate volunteer efforts which you will be expected to conduct, plan, and lead."

That is almost verbatim in the Enlisted Force Structure. Enjoy stepping on needles laced with HIV picking up trash on the side of the highway.

Also prepare to sacrifice your first born son to do all these tasks so you may compete for awards, which if you do not win; essentially nullifies your progress to most NCO ranks.

I went through 2E school at Keesler.

Are the geeks still staying in the shithole "dorms" down by gate 7? Back 15 years ago, we were staying in buildings finished in the 1950s with sewer leaks and more.

jesus....

I listened to that one guy John Burke he was pissed for the same reasons that there is too much bureaucratic shit and not enough hands on actual leadership or merit.

Absolutely!

Army ranger

how does it feel knowing you willingly gave up your individuality and freedom to be owned by your government?

Who is this john burke?

The way it was explained to me at Airman Leadership School/Non-Commissioned Officer Training PME that the USAF in recent years has gone through a 'restructuring phase' to adapt its management style to the framework of 'Fortune 500 Companies' ever increasing the corporate aspect and image of the USAF. Essentially meaning higher tier leadership is less to blame for individual faillings of subordinates and immense scrutiny of front line supervisors and their many tasks to carry out. Including you know, their main job which might be incredibly difficult and time consuming where people and pilots lives might possibly be at stake;
....
'But muh bullets & performance reports'
This is ineffective for achieving and maintaining air dominance, training & projecting unrivaled combat air power in the 21st century and beyond.

Going to check myself and bump

>the USAF in recent years has gone through a 'restructuring phase' to adapt its management style to the framework of 'Fortune 500 Companies' ever increasing the corporate aspect and image of the USAF

NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE

Remember Sup Forums will never lie to you

>pretty easy
>93% washout rate
yeah hope you like frying chicken in the mess hall after a few months of pipeline

I plan to enlist soon for USAF, what kind of things should I expect if you don't mind giving me a quick summary. Was there anything that you were expecting and disappointed about after enlisting or was it pretty close to what you expected?

If you can answer me I really appreciate it, have to go to bed soon for my wageslave job and I'm getting sick of it.. took jrotc in highschool for four years and have kind of lost direction in life and want to get back on track since I enjoyed that the most in school.

Also, thanks for everyone's service in this thread.

If you doubt any of the words I speak to be true. Ask any NCO or officer. They will qualify that statement.

I know, I used to be one.

Why aren't you in here?

reference these posts plz

Shit, sorry. Thank ya, mind if I ask what basic was like?

I guess I'm just curious what a recruiter might hold back from me information wise on what I should expect or what I should do in the service that will benefit me afterwards in terms of finding a job and what not

Recruiter might sugarcoat shit or tell you things too good to be through, research stuff on your own as well.

As for me I'm trying to join the navy as a officer just for the money so I don't really care if my one bullshits me, I just want him to get the paperwork done.

Mine definitely wasn't as daisys and bed time snacks like some of you guys are describing. But still wasn't shit compared to 80s/90s and early 2000s

/army

Right, I kinda expected that already but that's why I just have a lot of questions. I know nobody on Sup Forums is gonna sugar coat anything but i've been doing research from asking family members that are retired from usaf and most anything I find online I kind of already knew.

How do you feel about being replaced by drones and smart missiles?

It was okay. It was the best of the times, it was the worst of times. It really all depends on who you're stuck with.

I can tell that I was in a good flight because I ended up hating people in all the other flights more than the ones in my own. And genuinely did come to like a few of them. I also feel i got really lucky with the MTI/Drill sergeant I was with. We came really close to winning honor flight by the end and some minor title awards. Sexual assault scandals still trouble Lackland and their command staff. So expect them to keep addressing the matter to no end.

Being USAF recruiter is all a numbers game. How many people in high demand jobs can I get X amount of people for. That is their bottom line.

Do not take security force DO NOT
DO NOT DO NOT, they will talk this one up to no end. Everyone I have ever known here in this career field hated it. And for good reason. You will figure this out on your own though ;)

Do something that translates easier to what you might think would work in real life. A lot of maintenance people who work on jets find easy work at air ports, and those who work with communications and technical type of stuff will learn a lot that could and will help them out in the civilian world. One caveat to those types of career fields -- no one really stays in them that long for such a reason and get out as soon as it is advantageous to them and find a job elsewhere. The USAF has taken notice of this and is currently installing measures to dis-incentivize people from taking 47k p/y to 147k p/y

Aye aye chairforce

Where you going for tech school?

I was the same user, but I really appreciate you answering me. I will be keeping the security force thing in mind because that's what I'm afraid of is getting stuck into something I hate or something that has no use in civilian work but It was good talking to ya, hope you have a good rest of your life unless we happen to cross paths at some random point but hang in there man. I gotta sleep unfortunately but I'm excited to start asap

I believe you. That's exactly why I'm running the other way.

Im in the navy im 23 and ship in september. Also my job is navy nuke

Heh, I went through in 1990! Is there still a lot of fun to be had outside of Gate 7? I remember (very fondly) the "lingerie modeling" studio there.

Be a fucking parajumper

There is one thing I learned being an NCO, it was to help everyone you're able to.
