This is possibly the only artist I can think of with a 10/10 first album, but then unfortunately nothing quite this good aftewards.
huh. I'll be sure to give that a spin.
Nice user, hope you like.
Pic related is not American, but it very clearly draws inspiration American folk, blues and jazz. Every second of it is superb.
Sounds right up my alley. And Bert Jansch is a legend.
masterpiece
Good shit, but Fare Forward Voyagers is his mangum opus IMO
Good taste, user.
Does anyone here like Jack Rose? Anyone suggest some other American primitive and rag like him besides the standard recs of Daniel Bachman and all of the Takoma peeps?
bump
How do you anons feel about Elliott Brood?
The Tin Type endeared me to them immediately, and Ambassadors and Mountain Meadows were great. I haven't listened to Tin Type II or Work and Love yet though.

this song is fucking great
I only know him from Pelt. Never checked out his solo stuff.
Yes, yes it is
Should check out Second Son if you like Cadillac Dust. youtube.com
tom waits desu
Nice. I've got to check more out by them.
If you like that "darker" feel of Cadillac Dust and Second Son, Ambassador should be right up your alley. If you enjoy the other songs on Tin Type (Bowling Greens etc) Mountain Meadows is closer to them as a whole. They're a really underrated band.
Cool. Thanks so much!

Anyone a fan of William Tyler here?
nice
U2 sucks
That's nice
Fuck you
Fleet Foxes, star with White Winter Hymnal and work your way through
U2 is patrician now, deal with it loser
Gothic Country is not a real genre but its pretty good. Jay Munly is top tier
I am here from /u2/ Americans are stupid and bigoted. Your culture sucks and your music sucks. Fucking war pigs and peasants.
Aight then
Americana sucks, U2 is the best.
I am now
Nice false flag
This is a great general. If you want something like bob Dylan try Phil ochs. Also, you guys should check out Karen dalton, she is one of the most underrated in the genre imo. It's so hard to tell who's going to love you is great. Even though she didint write it, the song are you leaving for the country is really haunting.
WE ARE THE NEW AMERICANA
who Anthology of American Folk Music here?
bert jansch is incredible. birthday blues is definitely my favourite of his
Help. I've never found any album in all my time that was anywhere near as perfect as Blonde on Blonde.
listen to paul simon
