Somehow I got my hands on a flash drive that has files with outrageous creation dates. Like 1973, 2073 , 2051. I can't open any of them and they can't be deleted or transferred. Sup Forums explain the possiblity.

make a disk image and share... inb4 boot a live ubuntu and use dd

possibilities:
the flash drive is corrupt
the flash drive came from a point in time and space that we do not yet understand

It belongs to a time-traveler dude. That's some high level shit, be careful.

pics or didn't happen

Boot a live Ubuntu and use dd

Belongs to a time traveler obviously. Don't fucking crack it or you might fuck the space time continuum

Corrupt/damaged.
I had a 1TB harddrive that apparently had 2.147TB of data.
Shit is fucked.

Sup Forums here... Par for the course in a shitty fat32 filesystem

time traveller. tell me the lottery numbers

The way I got it was when I purchased my first netbook from a thrift shop in jersey it was in the case when I bought it

Put the files into a hex dump to check for corruption.

Actually fuck that. Make a dd copy of the drive, upload and let us dick around with it!

Seconding

I May have a confession I am not the owner of the hard drive my older friend is I see him tommorow

>Shit is fucked
Haven't you watched the show silicon valley? You just figured out a new method of data compression and you think it is fucked?

Do you have otg?

I know very little about computers and software what is otg?

1 way is:
>Otg adapter
>Rooted Android
>Total Commander
>RWX properties
Done

2.
>CMD command for file ownership.

3. Linux 10/10 777

dud use your brain 4 a sec
youtube -> "how to boot ubuntu live"
"how to use dd to copy a drive"
post using mega or somethig

if ur not willing then i deem this thread garbage

Then, you can't follow the guide above.
OTG is the adapter allowing the phone to read flash drives, etc, on the go

OP listen up my friend.

Get a Linux vm
Open terminal
Type this 'man dd'
Understand how it works then create a dd file of the stick.
Upload to Dropbox and we will do our stuff!

He probably doesn't know what a VM is. Focus

Thank you I will do this first I got to get my hands on the actual flash drive the one in the photo has classic rock and Italian music on it

a) you can edit metadata very easily and fake thos creation dates
b) most filesystems fuck up when the filename contains special characters, even trailing whitespaces sometimes

c) both of this could be the result of a faulty / corrupting drive

OP, download the file manager called "total Commander"

Virtual machine seen a friend use one to buy things from school server

Its like that terrible nick cage movie the knowing

Oh, nice

no, thats a VPN

a VM simulates another computer inside your computer, not a network inside your network

By ghisler, free

But these files have like 127496027kb a piece

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touch_(Unix)

If there was a lock from a specific class, from inside, then they've used a VM, but maybe you're right

Idk the kid I'm talking about is a total fuck bag and all he talks about it computers and linex

Oh, now I feel ashamed.

.....

Just delete system 32 and youll be able to see it just fine

Fag this could be like the cure for cancer

When the window opens search for the thumbdrive.

>system 32
>on a flash drive
>actually installing Windows on flash drive

Surely there is a special place in hell for these miscreants.

Dick face stop being a fucking clown it's serious bizz I just don't know jack about computers

Its probably something paranormal.

It belongs on /x/, user.

Yeah, I was gonna say that.

Ubuntu is your friend

I mean there are virtual adapters and switches you can create

can you zip the files? winrar is sometimes able to handle corrupt filenames even when windows refuses

I'm scared of ghosts

Post screen caps retard

They are to lager to zip

Your friend is a time-traveler. I'd ask him about it, but that might be a bad idea, people with the capability to travel are powerful.

...

this is ,
mind sending a screenshot of the file opener? I want to see this with my own eyes. If you dont have pics, then I wont believe you.

Install gentoo and you'll be able to do it more easily

The flash drive is not in my possession I lied to get your attention but I see the owner of the real deal tommorow and will convince him to give me it

Edited metadata

Wow solved.

no they fucking arent, nothing is "too large to zip", shit just takes longer
but sure its possible that winrar doesnt touch those files either, we're obviously dealing with a huge steaming pile of shit

Is it honestly that simple tho becuse some of the files I saw were like 158045248kb a piece

file size is just metadata as well, that file wouldnt even fit on the thumb drive

this is getting silly, seems like a prank to me
