So good my dude
My band's been cutting singles with a few studios we can get discounts at, and this is the first one we released.
antarcticats.bandcamp.com
It was recorded at a studio one of our friends is interning at, so we got a small discount.
We cut another single at a dude's home studio for free, but he went off the grid and the stems have presumably been lost.
We're touring in a few weeks, so if you live in the midwest or east coast feel free to come to a show if you like what you hear.

I don't want to insult but i don't understand the appeal of this, to me it just sounds like harsh noise that is attacking my headphones. Maybe its just because im an outsider but goddamn that made me want to blow my brains out to escape it
Maybe its so people can't filter him
If you can't appreciate experimental/noise music for what is it, then you probably don't belong here
If you can't take criticism, then you probably don't belong here.
He doesn't get noise its fine
I liked it yo
That wasn't really criticism, just popping in to say "i dont like this genre" is sorta lame
Look man I don't want to shit on your work, I make music too and I think i would want someone to tell me if they thought it was so bad that it was unbearable. Everything else here in this thread, even if it is not my cup of tea, is music in my book so i don't know what you mean by saying that I cant appreciate experimental/ noise when I haven't responded to any of the shoe gaze/ ambient/ glitch guys in this thread. Just because i don't enjoy your work doesn't make me an uneducated prick who shouldn't be in this thread.
Reccing this, sounds like a lot of work went into it
Have a (You), for the shilling.

3. the act or art of analyzing and evaluating or judging the quality of a literary or artistic work, musical performance, art exhibit, dramatic production, etc.
Glad you dig it ~
Damn. I didn't think anyone would be able to even hear the lyrics to that end part, that's why I didn't include them on the bandcamp desu. The last line is "close my eyes and feel good forever" not "lose my life," but yeah. You got the rest. Glad you liked it I guess. Feel weird knowing that part is more audible than expected though
Hey thats completely cool, I know it isn't for everyone. I might try and go in a more listenable direction when I get a little better
Thanks man, I appreciate it
Thank you, I've been spending quite a bit of time on it now that school is slowing down and I'm done ap tests and shit. The rec means a lot :)
This is mine, I am not this guy
Here i was thinking was you. In that case, yeah man good luck and post again when you have something new
I don't see any (You)s. I'm as shocked as you are that anyone, let alone 3 people like what I'm doing
Gonna do my constructive criticism now because I just got free from finals.
Great moods and tone here, but I can't imagine myself listening to this actively or keeping it in the forefront of my mind.
I'm sorry that nobody in this whole thread has responded to you. I know how shitty that can feel. Sometimes on this board you gotta put out to get something back, which leads me to question how honest people are being sometimes. It would've been nice to hear you establish a more clear theme that you reference and come back to sometimes. Maybe a little too linear sometimes?
I didn't understand or connect with this. The recording quality and voice immediately turned me off. I'm not sure I could get through much of this at all. I'm curious what caused you to make such a long project with this sound. I actually quite liked the sound of the song that starts at 12:20 but your vocals are a little too out there for me sometimes.
Turn up the vocals! I love your creativity though.
Cute but I felt like you could've put more effort into the lyrics, they feel generic sometimes, but maybe that is the point?
I think you repeated the intro section for too long and could've started building on it earlier. A minute is a long time to have essentially the same thing going on.
This is painful in a purposeful way, it made me sad. I would've loved to hear some singing with it, but the poetry lines up really well with the music, especially the passion in Healthy End.
Diggin the album art a lot. I felt like the guitar could've been louder to give your voice a little more support. It would make the whole thing feel more full and powerful, especially the parts that are just guitar.
Recs:
indeed, what a retard haha
thanks man, id try to turn them up but producing as is is pretty tough, when i get some new actual recording equipment soon i can probably make it sound more fleshed out.
youtube.com
Would love to hear your critique on this piece of shit.
Well that wasn't was I was expecting based off the uke... Can't say whether I actually liked it or not but it was amusing
Honestly this was pretty good. The shitty vocals complimented the bullshit, hyperbolic and (hopefully) satirical message of the song. I'm not sure I would change it at all.
Thank you. I'ts quite low budget and I know I'm not the best singer but thanks alot for the feedback.
first off this is a bandcamp thread.
secondly you are a very horribly musician. I don't know whats worse the lyrics or the vocals themselves or the ukulele chords were already on easy mode but you managed to fuck that up too. you thought this was worth sharing and you should feel bad about it.
I didn't mean to insult your singing, it worked well for the song and it seems very purposeful. I just meant that you weren't nailing your pitches and it worked for the song.
I'm sorry. I tried.
You are a motherfucker. How is that going to help him in any way? Even if you think that him being a musician is bad for the world this wouldn't help towards that goal at all.
Don't worry about him man. Some people seem to get off on being vitriolic.
here. What do you mean the lyrics? There aren't any lyrics...
>noise is muh genre you don't get
tr4 was at least entertaining but if you spent more than 30 minutes creating this release you should get your head checked.
actually it does help. if youre a hack you should take on the shame of being a hack and do something about it, or you know... quit. I know this is kinda twisted but if you post your music on an anonymous imageboard youre asking for it. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say the singer is not going to commit suicide over my stupid comment(because hed probably fuck that up too).
>doesn't like people that use emojis
>le wrong generation
gah! why cant things be great again?
Daw shit I linked to the wrong one!
That was meant for As for you I wanted to say that I felt like some of your stuff could've been more purposeful, like ask yourself why exactly you are putting one section or another into the song, what purpose does it serve in portraying emotion to the listener? Like in Besides, It's Always the Others That Die I felt like you could've portrayed the same thing while taking less time to do it, thus holding interest of the listener better.
The problem with what I just said obviously is that it comes across as more of a gripe with the ambient genre rather than your music specifically because there is nothing wrong with that song at all.
Maybe it is a reactionist song to satirize people who care about that kind of thing? Maybe there is another way you could try to look at it?
Have you looked into yourself and asked why you are so cruel to people, even if they are on an anonymous imageboard and you are never going to see them? What do you think would be better for the world: for people to get and give constructive feedback so they can better themselves, or for people to be cruel, selfish, bitter and cold because they are too short sighted to try and understand other people?
