You might as well just bite the bullet and grab a new card.

A 240 is slower than a 4870, might wanna look second hand.

man i regret so damn much messing around with the gpu bios , i didnt pay a big price for this card but it was running arma 3 ect pretty well , i wonder if the r7 2gb gddr 5 is worth it even if its cheap or i might be better bringing the vapor-x back from the dead

this hurt to read, look like a budget graph card that could replace it wont be easy to find

A 250 or 250x will do it if you can stretch, both faster than the 4870 but the 240 is low in the pecking order man, was meant to be paired with the AMD APU's for a crossfire boost.

Get something like used 960? Or some open box 1050 TI for ~125$ on newegg.

Put it in the microwave. The heat will melt the contact points in the card and reconnect them.

Maybe try getting a second-hand GTX 760?

try craigslist for used cards dude

i found this for a fairly good price ,is it better to pay a little bit more for a bigger size card or size dosent matter when it come to graphic card ?

Its the oven , if u do this in the microwave it will explode u fool

buy a 1050ti

you wish

>newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131695R
Fits your original price bracket.

thank you for the info , im looking into 1050ti's , i found a compact one for 125$ CAD , should i pay a little bit more for a bigger one or its compact size wont change anything ?

+1 , why would you buy a shit card for 75 when u can get a decent 1050 for about 100

Thank you really much user , i now hesitate to buy this one or the 1050ti

1050ti is a bit faster and a bit more expensive, flip a coin. Trouble is for a bit more you could get an open box 470 which is in another league, where do you draw the line.

he better buy the ti and change it in 5 years

I did it in the microwave and it worked. It just cooks faster.

Not even sure what you're saying there

i'm running a 750ti SC, and they are about 119 now, buy one of those if you dont do hardcore gaming, this does 1080p normal settings on most games, i get 50fps on GTA V with it paired with an AMD FX 8310 and 16 gigs of ram, however, depending on what you plan to do with your pc will ultimately tell you what you need to buy

This compact 1050 ti seems to be the one i should get , its around 130$ CAD and would be much better than the old 4780 i bricked - 4gb - gddr5 - dx12 , my old 4780 was only 2gb gddr5 dx 10.1 wich is kind of outdated . today is the day where i accept the death of my good old gpu - rest in peace 4780 27/3/17 here lies its body

I recommend the newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137059&ignorebbr=1

How did you brick it? Screw up a firmware flash? Can't you install both cards and run the display off the working card and then flash the bricked one? Do you not have enough physical slots? As long as you have another x16 physical slot, you can try that, even if it's only like x4 electrical. You could also try getting an x1 to x16 extender, though if you're this poor that's probably a bad idea just to try to unbrick a card that's probably not even worth $50.

I wouldn't put much stock in the 4gb, the 1060 3gb doesn't suffer much at all being 3gb and it's got twice the GPU horsepower of the 1050. Stretched to 4gb I think the 1050 would probably fall over in terms of performance.

>75-100$
If you look around you can get a RX 460 for less than that. Regularly see deals for like $60 for the 2GB version, and $80 for the 4GB. And for $100 you can get an RX 470.

you got it right , i have only 1 PCI-E slot and no integrated gpu , my only way to have something on the screen is using an old graphic card i had stored in a box (nvidia 7800gs) plugged in my only PCI-E slot

where do you find such deals ? i live in Canada , our prices r a little bit higher i think

7770 or r7 260x or r7 260 or 7850
all should be $50+ on ebay and all tons better than the r7 240, never buy the 240 or 250, they're garbage.

Aye, they were specifically for APU crossfire and HTPC's. Could be worse though, seen the specs on the Nvidia 710

There's one for under $100 USD. It's out of stock right now but if you wait a bit it might restock. I don't know if you can buy from jet.com but they've got a sitewide promotion 15% off (up to $30), plus you can get 3% cash back from ebates. Also, if you can buy from newegg, there's a groupon deal where you can get $110 worth of gift cards for $100, plus 6% back from ebates.

Clear the CMOS and see if that works.

Do you have any friends who would let you install your card to try to unbrick it?

get a $100 1050 card, great for 1080p gaming, you stupid faggot.

Well shit, doesn't look like jet ships to Canada. Newegg has newegg.ca but I don't know if you can use USD gift cards to buy there. If you can, I'd recommend using groupon to buy the gift cards, but then again, I don't know if you can use groupon in Canada either. Man, that really makes everything so much more difficult.

Get a used HD5870. They're super cheap, support DX11 and more than twice the power of HD4870.

If you can stretch a bit, go for HD7870. Again, twice as powerful as 5870. And still cheap. I just sold one for $60.

no

Dam, why do you guys even play? Free 2 plays? League, Dota or overwatch?

I really can't imagine going budget like that unless I was playing low demanding titles.

so whats with the ancient tech? can't afford a decent gpu man?
