>he thinks BtC is better than CR,CR and Wowee Zowee

kek

Yes, not sure if better than wowee zowee, but is at least number 2

>not slanted and enchanted

Stay plen

Does anyone else agree that pavement is a prime example of a band that didn't age well over time? their sound just seems horrendously bland in this day and age

toss up between this and wowee zowee

brighten the corners for lyrics, wowee zowee for sound

The Nicene Creedence version of BtC is really good, it's got early/live versions of a lot of wowee zowee stuff that are really interesting

Wowee zowee best by miles

That's literally the plebbiest choice though

WZ > BTC > CRCR > TT > S&E

so many plebs ITT

if you don't think brighten the corners is the best then you need to kill yourself

this is objectively correct and it's weird to me how obvious that is, considering it's not a popular opinion

the fall sounds more modern by comparison. i guess because they owed their entire career to them anyway.

but pavement was almost too indie for indie

How the fuck are there 15 replies and this hasn't been posted yet. I'd like you all to apologize.

>you will never be in south London, 1999, seeing out the millennium with pavement's last ever (as a band) live show
youtube.com/watch?v=3DRBYrYj144

literally why live

Wowee Zowee > S&E > CR,CR > BTC > Terror Twilight

BTC is just barely better than Terror Twilght

Typical hivemind opinion

I've been listening to Pavement longer than you.

If you're saying you go out of your way to have a contrarian opinion, I don't respect you anyway.

CRCR > WZ >S&E > BtC > TT

switch Crooked Rain and Brighten the Corners and I agree with you

Terror Twilight is so overlooked. People never talk about it in depth. They just talk about how it's the worst Pavement album.

Spit on a Stranger
Folk Jam
You Are A Light
Cream of Gold
Billie
Speak See Remember
The Hexx
Carrot Rope

All good tracks.

People can't handle the Radiohead production on it.

Worst song on Slanted IMO, all the others are amazing.

S&E last, what? I don't understand how someone can think this.

youre trying too hard, its literally not the worst song

ive listened to slanted over 500 times and these are the rankings

Yeah i love all those songs, but i think people give it shit because it's pretty much a Stephen Malkmus solo project, rather than a true Pavement album.

no i dont feel this way at all. i feel like some newer stuff people worship already feels dated like MBDTF.

people think this is the best because thats what is fed to them. dont get me wrong S&E is amazing, but it doesnt have to be your favorite just because its their lofi debut

some kannberg songs are honestly pavement's best

no doubt

How come they were so good, lads?

S&E>Malkmus' Solo Career>CRCR>Wowee Zowee>Terror Twilight>Brighten The Corners

Was just listening to Carrot Rope. It's a great song, same with Major Leagues. I was also wondering why the album gets hate

Malkmus has a weird talent for lyrics and guitar playing. It's unusual, without being too "off the rails."

I guess that's how I would best describe Pavement's music, and why people like it.

I like it more than BTC. It's kind of moody, dark, and weird.

I think most Pavement fans like it, just not as much. I think the band doesn't like it because Malkmus was going full fuhrer on creative control, and they were on the verge of breakup. Malkmus calls it overproduced; I wouldn't say it's overproduced, but it's polished af, very antithetical to the pavement vibe.

it's slanted and enchanted followed by wowee zowee
