>We know what Dad Rock is
What is it?

I don't think we do.

i think mom rock is better simply because they don't like music pretentiously

Most people are shit at describing it. Basically its the accessible, popular rock music of previous generations.

Dadrock isn't inherently bad, but it has a certain vibe to it. A lot of dadrock is overrated but just cause it has the label on it doesn't make it instantly cancer

Wilco is accessible, popular rock music of a previous generation?

My mum's into a lot of early Indie and T Rex and Neil Young and stuff

Counting Crows
R.E.M.
Boston
Journey
The Eagles
Fleetwood Mac
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Doobie Brothers
Foreigner
The Beach Boys
Steve Miller Band
Bon Jovi

Etc etc.

women don't "like" music

Yes?

They are not that popular, they are not that commercial, and they arent of a previous generation.

I don't think you know what dad rock is

>Boston
>Journey
>Foreigner

But these are Dad Rock bands

THIS IS HOW I FEEL

Gay Dad Rock maybe

these are correct answers

>Wilco is an American alternative rock band based in Chicago, Illinois. The band was formed in 1994 by the remaining members of alternative country group Uncle Tupelo following singer Jay Farrar's departure.
>formed in 1994
>1994
user, that's officially a previous generation. You're old. Sorry to have to be the one to tell you.

nice
I would take away Creedence cus I like them but that doesn't mean you aren't right.
I'd add steely dan, carly simon, goo goo dolls, and Chicago. also jimmy buffet.
I'd also

You are 12.

The XX

REO Speedwagon is another one.

My mom kind of started me on music early on with Pink Floyd, U2, Ub40, Willie Nelson, Fleetwood Mac, Prince, and Waylon Jennings. Wish she was still around.

Radiohead and Neutral Milk Hotel is also Dad Rock by your logic then

xxxtentacion

They're getting there, yeah.

my dad likes radiohead and my mom likes both

mom used to listen to this while cleaning. i think it's pretty patrish

Beastie Boys

Dido
Bjork
Fiona Apple

WTF? i love mom rock now!

Dave Bowie and what this guy said.

These are some of the big ones for her. She also loves The Police/Sting and The Dixie chicks. All she's listened to since I can remember is the 15 (or possibly fewer) CD's she's purchased since I was born. And also smooth jazz 105.9

The soundtrack to riding in the car with her growing up in the late 90's/early 2000's

>Prince for women that had the BBC or claims to have 'soul'
Lorde for moms desperate clingy onto to teen pop culture to feel young and hip her 15 year old daughter that just looks down on her phone all day

i think thats it for now

forgot to add, Queen

Well, my mom's the biggest Muse fan I know. She also loves Radiohead, U2 (went to Ireland in college for them), Bowie, Talking Heads, REM, Kasabian, and a lot more.

We recently saw The Pretenders and Stevie Nicks with each other. They were great.

BON JOVI

My mom used to listen to Josh Groban and Celine Dion.

I think the main difference is that dads are pretty unwilling to listen to anything new, where moms listen to new shit on the radio all the time.

hey mom.

Y'all are forgetting INXS

Explain your reasoning

My best friend's mom loves Fleetwood Mac and lindsey Buckingham and many rock groups of the 70/80's

As for my mom the only ones that comes to my mind are Journey and Boston, almost anything else she listens to is unbearable shit that plays on the radio...

How does one define "mom rock?" Is it arena rock with less machismo?

jimmy buffet is probably more dad rock

Hpw is Jimmy Buffet rock?

because it's 2017 and they're all old busted hags now
