>that cookie company is making a fortune selling chocolate chip cookies
>hell, we've got a chocolate chip cookie factory, let's make some too!
>except we're gonna make OREOS
>nah we're not gonna change the machinery, we'll just have this short guy run the place, he made some pretty good cookies 5-10 years ago
>nah we're not going to change the recipe, he says just add some dye to darken up the regular cookies and they'll be great
>then once they're mostly done, we'll have some other guys frantically running around squirting icing on them at the last minute
>we're gonna make a fortune!
...
>that other company is PAYING people to not buy our cookies!
Really makes you think
Eveything
They didn't follow the disney formula.
>>that other company is PAYING people to not buy our cookies!
Lol nailed it.
And rushed thier films
>Ghostbusters in a nut-shell.
Nothing
they chose the wrong writers/directors
Not hiring Jewish directors. Goys aren't allowed in Hollywood.
too many cooks spoil the pot
failure to commit to a film's core vision either during development or, even worse, after filming
ineptly rushing to catch up with marvel's worldbuilding
They let Nolan go.
Zack Snyder
They let Nolan go ... and do this
They almost made a great movie..
i would have agreed with this months ago
but looking at the grand scheme of things, it's evident that the problem is systematic
you can't put filmmakers in a terrible studio environment and expect them to be able to make good movies. even accounting for his flaws as a filmmaker, he's still stuck in an echo chamber with a bunch of idiots with no cohesive idea for what film he should be making, and the echo chamber is good at resonating bad ideas.
WB has been having problems far beyond DC. Pan, Tarzan, BvS, Skwad, Jupiter Ascending, The Hobbit. The recurring theme here is Warner Bros' management itself. They are critically mismanaging their tentpoles.
it's like the old saying, "if you meet one asshole, they're an asshole. if everyone you meet is an asshole, you're the asshole"
But of course then Warner bros came in like
NOPE
Same problem DC has always had. Instead of focusing on their strengths they get an inferiority complex and copy all the wrong things from marvel.
Snyder's a studio bitch
Disney seems to know how to work it though. Occasionally you get directors who buckle under the pressure (Wright, Whedon) but it seems like they know how to make crowd pleasing movies without strangling the directors too much.
I guess it helps that Feige is actually a competent producer who knows what fans want and what works with the characters. Who is even running the DC universe? Is there any single producer at the helm?
He had a three picture deal. If they tried to negotiate for another nolan capeflick he could have taken them to the cleaners.
a studio bitch would not have made batman versus superman a 3-hour montage of people discussing religion and politics
disney had notorious trouble with their live-action department. tron legacy, the later pirates films, the lone ranger, john carter. all underwhelming or straight-up flops. very mismanaged. the only one that was a certified hit was alice in wonderland, and it was totally accidental on account of it being an immersive-world 3d blockbuster 3 months after the debut of avatar, and in you notice, it completely destroyed all audience goodwill towards 3d that avatar created.
what did they do? they bought a bunch of creative talent that did know what they were doing, and hired alan horn to glue it all together
if you notice, live action films with the actual disney logo in front of them have still been quite rocky

They don't know what they're doing
the reviewers
>a 3-hour montage of people discussing religion and politics
I'd be fine with that if snyder didn't have the mental capacity of an eight year old.
Wow thanks random blogger, I guess thats it folks, pack it up, time to save that 10 dollars for the next Marvel movie.
