>mfw not sure if OP is baiting or a pleb
listen to classical
I actually know that feel
>Listen to Post-Rock for years
>Crave organic sounds, long atmospheric songs and more "avant garde" compositions
I've turned to Post-Hardcore and other genres that sound heavier and louder and aren't as "traditional," and i've been listening to them as "post-rock."
Listening to this right now
>post rock
>Not the same pop spacerock/slint bullshit past efrim
>listen to classical
>everything else sounds like literal shit
>listen to classical
>everything else literally is pop
Too technical.
>listen to harsh noise
>I can't hear anything else
Have you ever listened to Unwound- Leaves Turn Inside You? Seems like something you'd like
the closest I know to this feel is almost every other genre feeling way too short
i just remembered an autistic moment I had showing my friend Sleep right after finding out about Godspeed and going "just wait until the last six minutes it gets crazy good"
I've heard part of it and REALLY liked it! I just need to give it another spin, and probably will after MWY
>post bait
>everyone else thinks I'm literally pleb
A thread died for this
This thread reminded me why I love the more sparse, skeletal side of post-punk so much.
>listen to pop
>everything else is "lmao what drugs were they on"
I like it.
you mean
everything else feels actually focused in comparison
rather than 20 minutes of slow pointless noodling
because then i would agree
post-rock makes every genre look so much better by comparison
Recently began playing the violin at age 19, practice at least 10 hours a day, how good can I realistically get across time?
It feels good to know that listening to post-rock is the one thing I don't do for validation so no matter what people say about it I will still enjoy it.
decent enough for simple pop/rock or post rock in like a year.
>listen exclusively to noise
>can't stand anything that resembles music
>listen to classical and jazz
>literally everything else feels like garbage
underrated
>try to escape indie/rock in general
>fall down the rabbit hole that is break beat, dub, and jungle
Send help
you mean a genre that's just endurance tests and substanceless climaxes?
I'm sorry you have ADD.
I do have ADD actually but I can still listen to whole symphony or Talk Talk's version of post-rock with no issues
>listen to Swans
>everything else sounds like shit
Do people actually think this way about the entire spectrum of post-rock?
Any good post-rock albums which are quite ambient/not noisy?
anything that came out after godspeed started influencing the genre
real talk
there are no rules
>listen to glam metal
>everything else feels gay and queer
>listen to emo
>everyone thinks I only listen to MCR
Hammock - Oblivion Hymns
I know this feel.
He's right you know
Not any of the other posters here, just actually curious -- what are the best pre-Godspeed post-rock groups/artists to you?
>Hammock - Oblivion Hymns
This sounds lame give me something with guitars how is this even post rock?
You oughta feel flattered, MCR is some of the best-produced, catchiest, least gay emo on the planet.
>listen to merzbow
>get a headache and go back to listening to U2
Feelsgoodman
talk talk, slint, swans (I'm not sure why they count), and from what I remember tortoise and sigur ros are fine
hopeless case ((((
For me, it's DMST

Cheers for the recs. Somehow despite spending a fair amount of time on Sup Forums I've still listened to none of them.
Oh shit I used to LOVE them but forgot about them somehow, probably when I got too obsessed with Ween. Thanks for reminding me, I've got to go listen to them now.
>Listen to progs
>Everything else sounds like babbys first song
underrated post
