Okay so I've been using Nord for almost a year now, and it's by far my favorite VPN. But they're not perfect in any sense of the word. The main issue is their speed. I normally have a 200Mbps connection, and with Nord it drops to around 30-100Mbps. Personally I can deal with that, but some can't. I like Nord because it's based in Panama, has something like over 500 servers, and their support is fucking amazing. But the big downsides are connection issues. With the Nord app on windows I can almost never connect, every site will time out. But I get around that by using OpenVPN. The thing is this, since the vote about ISPs selling browsing info Nord has been fucking slammed, the amount of servers at 100% capacity atm is insane but they're claiming they are gonna be adding more servers pretty soon... and so far I don't have a reason to not believe them. And another huge issue I've noticed since the vote passed: the connection quality on Windows 10 is nearly unusable, but on Ubuntu it's working fine, and on my Android phone it's working fine. I honestly think that either Microsoft or my ISP started throttling my VPN traffic somehow or refusing it altogether because I had ZERO problems for a year up until that vote was passed. Literally next day I couldn't get a stable connection. But thats all my experience, look around to find what suits you. If you want crazy speed - use IVPN (expensive tho). They somehow boosted my connection from 200 to 230-250Mbps. But they only have a few servers to choose, and they're based out of Gibraltar which is a UK owned territory, personally I'd rather go with Nord which is based out of Panama, I feel they'd be less likely to coperate with any kind of gag order or anything. There's a shit ton of info on thatoneprivacysite.net, owned and run by the dude who runs the r/vpn subreddit. He has a crazy detailed chart with everything you'd ever wanna know about most VPNs out there.
