Perfect pleb filter. If you think this movie is just an action movie you're a pleb

Essential Sup Forums core

8/10 action movie
2/10 novel adaptation

a masterpiece

watched it with my parents

Heard the novel was thrash

Kill yourself consensus faggot

It's a very good bad movie. If that makes any sense.

The sequels are just plain shit.

GET THE FUCK OUT

This is spot-on.

I'M DOING MY PART!

The novel is great for different reasons than those that make the movie great
The movie is effectively Paul Verhoeven's attempt at shitting on the novel, as a satire of militarism it's very on the nose but the mid-late 90s were the absolute perfect time for it and it just ticks all the right boxes

my fav movie of all time
can watch all the time never gets boring

Loved it. The second one sucked though.

I honestly, and confidently list it as my #1 movie of all time. Saw it as a child and it blew me away. ever since then I've been a huge fan of Monster/Kaiju movies (godzilla, pacific rim etc). As I grew older I learned that it indeed was a satirical, almost comedic, film. This only increased my admiration for the movie. DIZZY A BEST GIRL

Also the main theme. Jesus fucking Christ, such high-energy.

>Second one
You know, there's at least 4 Starship troopers movies (not counting cartoon and anime)

I like it a lot..

Ok, i lied. I fucking love it. Its one of the best movies I've ever seen and it never gets old.

The combination of a thrilling story, masterful soundtrack, exceptional fucking action and that incredibly tingly, comfy feeling i get when watching it makes it one of my number 1's(yes i have several)

...

...

Give it a listen.

>tfw those horns are blaring when the dropships land to klendathu.
glorious.

But yeah, love the movie, one of the few 90s movies where the CGI hasn't aged like milk.

>Also the main theme. Jesus fucking Christ, such high-energy.

You can thank Basil Poledouris for that. Easily the most underrated movie composer of all time.

It may be considered sacrilege but I like it more than Robocop

Also glorious memories of early faps to Dizz

>Also glorious memories of early faps to Dizz

God damn this!

Quotable, unsubtle cheese-fest.

>Perfect pleb filter
This

>you get to choose the movie tonight
>Starship Troopers.
>that collective look of disgust and discomfort on all their face
>Ha ha yeah....no
>S-star whaa?

If you haven't already, go play the new EDF

If you think it's anything but an action movie you're a pleb.

>B-BUT MUH DEEP SATIRICAL COMMENTARY

It has this, sure, but Verhoeven made Starship Troopers as a straight action movie first and foremost.

>Also the main theme. Jesus fucking Christ, such high-energy.
>high-energy

Was alright. Remember having to go to the bathroom a couple times to jerk it to Diz. Wish a serious attempt to adapt it to film was made though

the cartoon was pretty good though, shame it ended right near the end of the earth invasion

...

Dude didn't understand or care about the book and tried to make a anti fascism movie where everyone came out thinking fascism isn't that bad
I liked it though its fun

The novel is fantastic, just keep in mind it was written in I think the 50s so it has that mindset.

I would like to know more.

I heard Japs loved it

>Anti-war
>with space battleships

Makes sense.
